Its where you trash your dress for the purpose of some pretty cool photos
As great as some pics are I couldnt do it
Yeah, they call it “trash the dress” but I’ve heard that the dress doesn’t really get ruined (I guess it depends what kind of “trashing” you do. Some brides have said that after getting cleaned the dress is just like new! The purpose is to get some cool photos of you and DH in your wedding clothes (letting the ocean waves crash into you while you two are laying on the beach kissing, as an example).
I dont know what happened to my post but I think there is a way to do it with fire … who knows??
I think some of the TTD shoots look amazing, but I think the term is applied to too many shoots that don’t actually fit the description. If I was to do it, I’d properly trash it – not just pop myself in some water and wash it afterwards.
To me, this is a TTD
This is a beautiful and artsy photo, but not necessarily a TTD
Here’s an example:

I should add that if you DO do it… don’t go into deep water in your heavy dress! Sounds like common sense but a bride last year drowned because of it and the photographer and his assistant were unable to save her because the waterlogged dress was too heavy.
i did it and it was so fun!!
well.. it wasnt my real wedding dress. I bought an inexpensive weddng dress and used it for our pre-wedding photos. Everybody loved how the photos turned out! Here’s a link to our pre-wedding photos, the trash-the-dress is at the second half part:

i loved it and i would recommend doing it! haha
