J-ho.  this post cracked me up.  I’m sorry to bring you bad news. It only gets worse.  At 30 weeks, I am convinced that trying to go number 2 is practice for labor. I might have cried a few times.

I’ve used the fleet ones but the smaller ones just for children, they dont create quite an emergency situaion when you take them. 🙂

My doctor said to keep extra fiber in your diet and lots of water! Good luck!

Oh gosh.  I am terrified of what will happen to me when I get pg.  Surprised

I’ve had this problem on and off my whole life (literally–my first memory is of when I was 3 years old and my Mom had to give me a glycerin suppository because I was so constipated).  As a teenager and now adult, I’ve been mostly able to keep it under control with lots of fibre and water, but it’s something I have to be conscious of on a daily basis.  Sometimes a McDonald’s meal or something similary greasy is enough to get things moving.  Despite the preventative measures, it still gets bad occasionally.  I have some lovely hemorroids that flare up once in a while as proof, and my doctor told me they WILL come back to haunt me in pregnancy.  Another thing that really seems to help is getting some exercise in (even just a walk tends to help get things moving).

I better start investing in suppositories now.    Embarassed

@MrsFarmer:  oh the hemmies… the lovely hemmies. I thought this wouldnt happen to me since I have never really had issues prior to pregnancy.   Oh man I was wrong, thanks progesterone.

My sister who has had 2 kids said her butt has never been the same. She has constant issues now.  I am terrified.

I’ve found that an almost daily banana and applesauce keep everything moving for me. Sometimes, I’ll have a day or so of constipation and then the next couple of days of diarrhea. I had a weak stomach before pregnancy. Being pregnant has only amplified it for me.

Try PROBIOTICS. You can find them at a health food store like whole foods or  trader joes. the really good ones are in the refrigeratorated section of the supplement/vitamin area.  They make the pills in chewable form in yummy flavors or in capsule that you swallow.  Also, try eating beets or cabbage if you like them.  Some roasted beets have a strong “moving” affect on almost everyone I know…lol. best of luck! …..wait, if you are pregnant, im not sure if you can try probiotics….? anyone?

@lovelynan:  @cascadecherub:  Good suggestions!  Also my Mom used to feed me prunes and prune juice and it also seems to help.  🙂

If your still looking to experiment with poopy things, Get the herbal tea called ” smooth moove”  by traditional medicines! You can amazon it, or get it at any Whole Foods, CVS and probably even Publix.

You may have some cramping, but wow it cleans out things you didn’t know you had.

LOL! I know exactly what you mean. I started eating a spinach salad everyday and it increased my iron and started making me go to the bathroom. I was super thankful.

Hahahaha…you ladies are cracking me up! I’m doing ok for right now, but I’m afraid this is going to get worse as time goes on. I’m loading up on lots of fruit!
