Hello date twin 🙂

We’re doing The Prayer of St. Francis, and then Irish Wedding Blessing.  We are having a fairly big wedding so my friend (who is singing) definitely thinks she can get through both of those sonce.

We used How Beautiful as our Communion Song.  It was one from our music director’s list of suggestions and I loved it.  There’s a verse in there about weddings, too… “How beautiful the radiant bride who waits for her groom with His light in her eyes.”  Good luck with your planning!

We love “Let There Be Peace On Earth”.. but other songs that are in the running, though are: “Panis Angelicus” (bread of angels), “Here I am, Lord” and “Gift of Finest Wheat” 🙂

We didn’t have full mass, but my Darling Husband said he would have chosed One Bread, One Body, if we had.

I like the previous suggestions of “Here I am Lord” and “Gift of Finest Wheat”.

Other songs I like: “Blest Are They” and “Taste and See”

I like Panis Angelicus, or especially if you have an excellent cantor/soloist, Mozart’s Ave Verum is beautiful. For hymns, I also love Let all Mortal Flesh Keep Silence, and Alleluia Sing to Jesus.

I love hymns, we decided on either “On Eagle’s Wings” or “You Are Mine” (I can’t remember which is communion, which is offering) and then Irish Blessing as a nod to my grandmother.

You could also do How Great Thou Art, Here I am Lord, We Remember, Come to the Water, or Shepard Me O’ God… lots to pick from! But if you want a very communion communion song I’d say One Bread, One Body or Taste and See

We are using “On Eagle’s Wings” for Offertory, and “The Supper of the Lord” for Communion

I`m debating One Bread, One Body, Here I am Lord or Taste and See

I love “Taste and See” as a communion hymn… that’s what we’re using.  We’re having “Set Your Heart on the Higher Gifts” as the offertory hymn.  The lyrics are taken from the 1 Corinthians (Love is patient, etc).  It’s a really pretty hymn.

And just in my opinion, while it is a beautiful song, I would be careful with using “On Eagle’s Wings” because it is a very popular funeral hymn.  I actually leave the church when it comes on in regular mass because it makes me hysterically cry reminding me of my grandparents funerals.  I’d hate for people to have sad memories brought up at your wedding.

yeah, wow, I would definitely not use “On Eagles wings” at a wedding… I play organ for funerals (and weddings,) and I am completely serious, it gets requested at EVERY SINGLE funeral!
