I do think “On Eagles Wings” is a beautiful song, but it is played at every funeral.  Just listening to that song brings tears to my eyes.

I’ve noticed the link between funeral and wedding songs too! I want the St. Francis Prayer played at my wedding, but it was also the first thing I requested for my father’s funeral.

 

I second the suggestion of Panis Angelicus. Especially if you have a great cantor!

also popular were my personal fave ‘The Lord bless you and keep you’ by John Rutter. ‘clare benediction’ and ‘the lord is my shepherd’ (rutter) and ‘cantique de jean racine’ – faure

a youtube search will yield some soundbytes of these. they are all very beautiful. may the Lord be with you!!!
