My husband has this boring Christmas wish list and I’m about to pull the trigger on some boots for him. Yes, he wanted boots. Which I feel he should just buy on his own because A- they are necessary here and B- so he can try them on! Oh well… I’m looking at Sorels, but are there any other good brands for him? He wants warm and waterproof.

RedHeadKel : LL Bean. Waterproof, warm, and last forever. And if for some reason they don’t last forever you can take them back and get a replacement pair (even if they are 5 or 10 years old).

Sorel! Live in MN and have harsh winters, and they are definitely the best! They last forever!

LilliV : Thank you! I will definitely check them out!
hunting_bride : We are in MN, too, and I have Sorels for the really crazy days. I haven’t had to wear them much, but I do love ’em!

Sorels are the classic! UGG makes a really great snow boot (not their sheepskin models) as well that last forever!

I hate Sorels. They are definitely the warmest boot I’ve owned, which is a necessity in Canada, but the way they are structured with a really rigid back, I connstantly get blisters.
I second PPs suggestion. My Fiance and all his friends have UGG snow boots and they swear by them.

I just bought my husband some Columbia ones. We are going to Quebec City in two weeks, so we’ll see how they hold up. He said they were really comfortable walking around the house, but we don’t have the weather where I live to try them out before hand.

I’m in Minnesota too. Another vote for Sorel!! (I have both LL Bean and Sorel boots. Honestly, I think the Sorel are warmer and are more salt resistant)

Mainer here so I gotta chime in on the L.L Bean boots. I think its the only boot people in this state own. Haha. Can’t beat the return policy.

RedHeadKel : try Timberland boots too, both DH and I wear them in the winter. Make sure you get waterproof vs. water resistant as water resistant only means that the material they’re made out of won’t get damaged by moisture. Waterproof will mean that the boots and seams are sealed to prevent water getting in.

I got Pajar boots last year and they’re the best boots I’ve ever had. I had never heard of the brand but found a pair on sale at Nordstrom Rack so decided to give them a try – they’re awesome!! The company is based in Montreal. Good selection of men’s and women’s styles.
