I have 1.02 ctw, but I am going to upgrade them to around 1.8 ctw.

Bigger is always better, but when you hit the 1 ct on each, the price sky rockets.

There is no right or wrong answer to this. I would love 2CTW diamond stud earrings, but that is 6K minimum. Try on a few different sizes and see what you like best. You could also add a halo to ‘size up’ a smaller diamond.

When I was trying to decide what size diamond studs I wanted, I bought a few pair of inexpensive CZ studs in different sizes to test out.  I discovered that I actually preferred to wear diamond studs that were a little bit smaller than the ones I was drawn to and drooling over.  The bigger ones looked fabulous but there were too many instances where I didn’t feel comfortable wearing them.

bubbly2018 :  no suggestions for size, but check out lightbox.com for some affordable options! They’ve got a 1ct pair for around $2k I believe!

My everyday studs are 0.5ct, which is perfect for me for sleeping in, exercising in, etc. They are pretty much in my ear 24/7 unless they’re being cleaned. My mum has larger studs (I can’t remember but I think they’re about 1ct each), I borrowed them for our pre wedding shoot, and they were a bit tiring to wear (and I’d definitely take them out for showering/exercising etc!). I’m in North East England though where jewellery is pretty understated so my 0.5s are quite big to what I’m used to seeing people wear on a daily basis.

Of course, going from a gauge you might find a bigger stone feels more natural as you’re more used to something big on the ear! I like PPs suggestion of trying them out with CZ for a while to see what works best for you

For every day wear, I’d say 1.00 CTW would be perfect.

I had a pair of 1.80 CTW diamond studs and they were pretty uncomfortable to sleep in, I ended up giving them to my sister LOL…I like PP’s idea…buy different CZs and try them out for size.

bubbly2018 :  I have had my 1.02 ctw studs for about 5 years and I wear them on the regular.  I did switch from a screw post to a notch post (not sure if that’s what it’s called) because the I almost lost one due to the fact that the screw back kept coming loose and i must have not checked it one day and bam, fell out.  Luckily it was at a friends house and I was able to recover the earring.

Mine are rounds and are just over .40ct each and I love the size. They aren’t overwhelming or heavy, but because they are such a great cut and clarity, they sparkle like crazy. Could have gone larger, but for the cut/clarity I wanted, I didn’t want to pay the premium price. Overall I’m 100% happy with what I picked and I wear them almost daily.

At least 1 ctw. Anything smaller for me is just too small unless it’s for second hole.

Daily I wear 1ctw. If I need something fancier I wear earring jackets with my studs. It adds a halo to any stud so it gets a lot of wear but didn’t require an investment into a second pair of studs.
