It depends on how elaborate you want everything to be.    I think 2000 might be a little low, depending on the area you live in and the florists you have.  The good thing is since you are getting married in the spring you will have TONS of choices and they will be amazing.  I’m sure you will be able to find a florist who can get you close to what you want to spend and it still be beautiful.  Good luck!!

@FutureMrsBPJ:  Not really. The arch is going to be more. For 5 coursages, 7 boutineers, 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, my bouquet, 13 centerpieces, and 2 alter pieces my total was about $2100 for in season flowers. With everything, season and flower choice makes a big difference, but I would say I was shocked at the cost.

@FutureMrsBPJ:  My flowers were $3,200 for 23 centerpieces (12 manzanita trees, 11 lanterns with candles and rose petals). I used the same lanterns for the ceremony aisle then the florist and her team moved them to the reception. Same with curly willow arch for the ceremony, it was put behind our sweetheart table for the reception. We had 10 boutineers, 7 bouquets, 5 corsages, and one pomerander ball for the flower girl. The first quote I got was $6,700. I literally laughed out loud and kept looking 🙂

Your budget is on the low side.  You may want to be a bit more flexible on the types of flowers and scale back if cost is an issue.  Just the table decor for 20 tables alone is probably $2,000.

I have a looooong list of rentals from my local flourist. (Rough numbers, since I don’t remember off hand)
6-8 corsages
6-8 boutionnieres
3 bridesmaid bouquets
my bouquet + throw away
Hair flower (2)
15-18 centerpieces
2 VERY LARGE head table centerpieces
2 flower girl ‘wands’ (Single stem with wire and a bow, basically)
7 vases for candy buffet
plus 2 large urns, and mums for decor at our ceremony site (gazebo)
We may still have more

Basically, we are expecting around $1000 MAYBE slightly higher (had our final apt today, so I’ll find out soon!) We have also rented an arch elsewhere for $60.00.

I think 2k is low, but it depends on where in IL you’re located. Even though peonies and hydrangeas are in season in late May, they’ll still be expensive (my wedding is only a week later and I was getting quotes of up to $10/stem for peonies!).  For perspective, I’m in St. Louis, and our date is June 7. We’re paying 1400 for my bouquet (poppies, anemones, ranunculus, Italian ruscus, and dahlias), thee Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets of hydrangeas, 11 bouts (ranunculus- groom, Groomsmen, ushers, dads, officiant, male reader)), 2 nosegays for our moms (basically tiny versions of my bouquet), 1 wrist corsage (reader), 2 pin on corsages (grandmas), 6 large hydrangea centerpieces, and 8 small iris centerpieces. We are using only in season flowers, mid-priced flowers, too. Peonies and garden roses are EXPENSIVE! Hydrangeas are a lot cheaper, but they’re delicate, so keep that in mind if you have an outdoor ceremony.

Eta: we are going to have a decorated arch, but my dad is building it and my DOC is draping it with fabric that I’m buying. It was $500 to rent, but my dad is building it for around $100The and my mom want one for their garden anyway.

@FutureMrsBPJ:  If you plan for detailed flowers I would imagine it’ll cost more.  But I’m not familiar with wedding prices there. .. Although I do have family in IN. It also makes me think 2k in that area is do-able.

Wow, the more I read threads on WB, the more I realize flower costs can be ALL over the place. It doesn’t even matter if you are in the same location, it depends on who you use and how picky you are about your flowers.

I decided flowers were low on my priority list, so I went with my local grocery store. They did a BEAUTIFUL job with peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, and green stock. My flower total was 525 dollars, and here was what I got:

My bouquet

5 bridesmaid bouquets

7 boutineers

3000 rose petals for aisle decorations

25 individual rose and peony stems for centerpieces.

So I don’t know how centerpieces/arches will work, since I DIY for most of it. But if 2000 ends up being way too low, try local grocery stores! Here is a pic of my bouquet:

It seems low to me.  I had a $1600 quote for the following:

Bride bouquet

Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets (3)

5 stems for altar

2 larger arrangements for altar

Small arrangement for cake table

5 stems per table centerpieces

Boutonnieres (10)

Coursages (7)

My flowers were going to be most ivory roses, spider mums, blue dendrobium orchids (only a few, not a lot), button mums.

I didn’t end up going with this because I thought the price was high for how few actual flowers we were getting.  Ordered online – wedding “package” of bouquets, coursages, etc, for $300, and then ordered supplimental flowers for centerpieces and other decorations for about $450.

Take my opinion with a grain of salt because I did my own flowers, but $2000 seems like A LOT to spend on flowers.  I did my bouquet, a toss bouqet, 2 bm bouquets, 2 nosegays, 8 mini aisle arrangements, 2 altar arrangements and rose petals for my table for $320.  I used peony roses, spray roses. alstroemeria, aster and hypericum berries and it was really easy to do.

We are spending $1300 on

bride bouquet (all peonies)

toss bouquet

4 bridesmaids bouquets (peonies and hydrangea)

11 bouts/ corsages

2 baskets of petals for flower girls

20 centerpieces (mix of tall, medium, and short using hydrangea and a few other flowers that are escaping my memory right now)

escort table arrangement

but I got a discount for making an appointment at a bridal show:) I think your price should be ok, depending on where you’re at in IL and how ok you are with them using some filler flowers.
