We got ours back in a month. I definitely think she shouldn’t have promised you she could do it in 2 weeks if she couldnt but I’m not sure that was a realistic time frame. I’ve had other family photo shoots and it’s always taken at least a month. I do think you’re overreacting a bit. why the rush?!

maegen88:  although she shouldn’t have promised you a two week timeframe if she couldn’t stick to it, I think you’re overreacting.

we had our sneak peek photos posted within 2 days and all of our photos back within a week. This was in October though. Friends who had their engagement pictures done with the same photographer had their shoot a week ago and haven’t had any sneak peek pictures posted. This is a busy time for weddings (and this is a VERY popular photographer), so try to be patient.

We got ours back in 5 days, but our photographer is unusually efficient.  If you wouldn’t lose too much money and it’s still feasible to book another person, I would start looking at other photographers just so you have peace of mind.

We got a preview set of 40-50 photos within 3 days. I think it was about 5 weeks before we received the rest of them. Our photographer edits and gives clients all photos she takes, so it was almost 1000 photos total, which naturally takes a bit of time.

We got ours in about 2-3 weeks I think.  He said we’d get them in a week.  After 1.5 weeks I checked in with him, and he said he was sorry, but him and both his kids had gotten sick so he hadn’t been able to work on them.  We never got any sneak peaks, but got all 70 photos in the 2-3 week range.

I read your other post and also thought you were overreacting.

It took over 6 weeks to get our engagement pics back and she didn’t even give us a sneak peek.

We had our wedding a month ago and they told us it would be at least the middle of July before we had our pics. We also don’t have a sneak peek.

Cool your jets.

maegen88:  we got ours back in less than a week – first sneak peak was 2 days, second one was 6 days (and the second sneak peak said “guess who’s getting their engagement photos today!”) that said, our photographer is FAST, and it’s one reason I picked him (turnaround on a wedding shoot is 2 weeks). he prefers to shoot and start editing right away, as he says he wants to get the photos done while everyone is still super excited about the shoot.

if she told you two weeks, i’d be annoyed that the 2 week mark passed without any sneak peeks or her contacting you to tell you she’s behind. you shoudln’t have to follow up with her; she should be proactive in telling you it will take longer. that would bug the sh*t out of me.

ETA: we just had our shoot at the beginning of June, so right smack in the middle of “busy” wedding season (and our photographer is booked with weddings every single weekend) and he still got us our pics in less than a week. so i don’t think you’re overreacting. if a vendor can’t keep to a timeline, they shoudln’t tell you that timeline.

We just had ours done last night. As we were leaving, she asked us “would you like me to post a couple sneak peeks to the facebook page tonight?” and we said yes. She had 3 images up on her page within 4-5 hours. She quoted us “up to 2 weeks” to get all of our images back, which she said was ” a little longer than usual” due to the busy time of year – with so many weddings and other engagement sessions.
