Check local dept stores in their special occasion section. They aren’t bridesmaid dresses specifically but no one will be the wiser, and they are usually better quality.

I am only having two bridesmaids so I plan on buying similar/identical dresses from somewhere like Dillards / Macys / etc …  How many girls are you having?  Could you swing something found at a regular ole department store?

Check out http://www.keepmeinstitches.biz  they have 10 pages of long Bridesmaid or Best Man styles and I don’t know how many of the short styles.  Click on each photo to find sizes and colors.  I bought my MOB gown through them.  It was high quality, low price!!  They have a brick and mortar store “Rowan’s Bridal in the PA/NJ area.  Just be aware that their sizes are NOT street size, so everyone will HAVE to go to get professionally measured (can be done at by a local drycleaner/seamstress) Many are in the $89-100 price range.  I think the first page of the long Bridesmaid or Best Man gowns are particularly suitable for more mature BMs.  I received great customer service too!  🙂

I got my Maid/Matron of Honor dress at Macy’s. It was originally $160. It was marked down twice, plus I had a coupon, so it came to $32! I def. would recommend trying department stores.

They’re not ‘bridesmaid’ dresses, but they are formal…and they do have some pretty cute ones.

I’m using Jasmine for my BM’s & was really pleased with the price ($130) and the fact that many are offered in three lengths (long, tea, & knee).  I wanted knee length dresses and found that most came in tea-length & would need alterations.

I second the request to look at departement stores and checking out mori lee. I also found looking at places like Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Wet Seal, Express, Maurices and places like that, that are found in most malls are a great location to find stuff!

Oh my gosh there are so many! you can always post what you’re looking for and we can give you a hand. I found the cutest purple dresses at, of all places, SPIEGEL for $22. Shopstyle.com is a great place to view all the different options from different stores in one place. You input your parameters and out spits the goodies

None of my bridal party bought dresses from a bridal shop. Mom’s and MOH’s are from Nordstrom’s and other 2 BMs got theirs from the clearance rack at Macy’s for $59! They’re tea length and absolutely appropriate. I had a short engagement, so buying off-the-rack made logistic as well as financial sense (we didn’t have to wait 2-5 months for delivery + alterations).

I had my BMs pick their own Dessy styles and ordered through netbride.com.  The five different dresses ranged from $110-138.  Netbride carries plenty of designers and emails you price quotes MUCH cheaper than bridal stores (but you can still go to bridal stores to try the dresses on).
