I’m trying not get get myself into a project I can’t finish. I ordered our invites and RSVP cards and I am trying to decide whether to do Ribbon or a belly band. So tell me Bees…
What’s Easier? Tying a Ribbon or Wrapping a Belly Band Around an Invite?

@lina010: I’d go with the belly band because in my opinion it’ll change less /is less sensitive to being stuffed inside the envelope, by being handled by the post etc. (compared to the ribbon)

we’re doing ribbon, but it’s pretty short and wide, so hopefully it won’t get damaged in the mailing process! here are our invites (don’t mind the random shreds of paper, ther was a sticker)

I’d go with a belly band because it’s easier and less likely to cause problems in the mail system. Anything that is lumpy can be problematic in the sorting machines, which are unavoidable.

I just recently finished tying twine on my stds and it was a bit of a pain, so I would imagine belly bands are easier.. which is what I’ll do for my invites.
Also, I do believe that adding a ribbon adds extra postage, since it adds more bulk.

We had a belly bands with flat bows attached!
Best of both worlds!

I’d say the belly band would be easier and less likely to cause problems during mailing. I actually just bought paper that matched our invites and cut out my own belly bands, lol. A regular piece of paper cut lengthwise fit our pocketfold just fine.
