Just thinking about tomorrow. There’s no official agenda, but we might grill out. Not so sure about going to see fireworks. This is our 4th Independence Day together, and we’ve never gone. One year we lit sparklers, but that’s it. Is that weird? I’ve always suggested, but things never went as planned.

This is our eighth and we’ve gone to fireworks twice. Neither of us like them very much. We’ll grill and enjoy the day though.

Last year we watched the fireworks in Portsmouth, NH, which are AWESOME and right by my parents’ house (like, the house shakes from the fireworks). This year, we’re in PA so no fireworks. Whatever. I grew up with them right around the corner, so while I thoroughly enjoy fireworks it’s not a big deal whether I see them or not.

I said we light our own fireworks, but it’s more we do firework shows. I’m working on getting my firework pyrotechnics license and FI comes along and helps. So all week we’ve been working on a massive show for a nearby town. We start finishing set up tomorrow morning, light it up when it’s dark, and clean up the wreckage. Pack up the equipment and go home. It’ll be a long, tiring day, but totally worth it. This is the last show I need to get licensed. Just have to take the test.

I’m going to the beach in the morning, and then in the evening, I’m going out with my BF to the marina, where we’ll be able to see the fireworks from four different cities across the bay. 🙂

I will be at work all day, I’m sure the fireworks will be over by the time I get off.

My fiance had to work today (though he’ll be coming home in a couple of hours), but I had the day off (yay!).
We’re going to his parents’ house later. We’re bringing over a dessert and potato salad, and they’re grilling out. I’m not sure what else is on the agenda, but we might walk a few blocks (from his parents’ house) to a nearby park … They’ve done a pretty impressive fireworks show at that park the last couple of years, and we all enjoy going to that.

I had to work today (starting at 4:30!) but now I’m heading to my hometown. It goes CRAZY on the 4th!!! You can drink in public, everyone grills and parties all day, and the town looks like a war zone with everyone’s fireworks going off constantly (basically no firework restrictions in our state so you can get the really good ones). Yahooooo! Happy 4th all!

I’d love to experience 4th of July just once, it always looks like such a party.

I don’t particularly like fireworks, and I think we’ve only seen them twice FI has to work today, and we both have to work in the morning anyway. We’ve previously hit up the local high school’s football field, but, while the field fills up with thousands of people, there are only a couple of small gateways to get out of. I get suuuuuuper uncomfortable in those situations, and then it takes forever to get home because of all the traffic (we live ~10 minutes away).
