Just woke up, about to enter the “Dungeon of Doom” for a work out (with new DVDs I got, and I’m scared), dinner with Fiance and then to work… again.

@Gingersnap: That’s what I call our basement. It’s been a recent development that it’s taken on this name for me. Before I never worked out, because I HATE it. Now I’ve been doing it for 5 weeks. And I still hate it.

Working…2 jobs.  Tuesdays and Thursdays I hang out with my buddy who has Autism.  Tonight we’re going to see Rango!  But I’m looking forward to that movie…anyone seen it yet?

At work with some sort of weird issues where our email and internal stuff is hosed but we can surf the net so I’m enjoying my iPod (listening to some Sting curently), surfing and working, but mostly surfing πŸ™‚ I’m not usually on WB this much so it’s kind of odd, but so much better than staring at the walls or playing solitaire!

Spring break extended weekend for me! Woo! My sympathies to those being more productive than I! πŸ˜‰

Actually, I did bring a lot of work home with me, so I spent a few hours reading Herbert Marcuse this morning. Nice and light for over break (/sarcasm).

Three of my undergrad professors took me out to lunch today! It was awesome. I was nervous that I was going to say or do something stupid, but I think I kept that to a minimum. They shared their own PhD stories and asked how my program is going. They also encouraged me to apply for summer school teaching jobs, which I really want to do, but I didn’t think I am qualified enough yet since I am still doing coursework. They said I should be fine since I already have an MEd. Oh, and one of them happens to be the chair of the department and mentioned that maybe she’ll look into adding another section of 101 to the summer course schedule at the university. Sure, they’d have to do a formal search and screen for it, but she’ll keep me in the loop! Um, wow. She is basically willing to create a position with the intention of hiring me! Granted, that’s not to say there will be enough interest or that it will happen, but it’s a huuuuge morale boost to know these tenured faculty have this confidence in me. So yay! Also, how amazing would that be if it comes to fruition!? PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE let it happen! (And if nothing else, it definitely gives me hope for getting hired there after I graduate, which is honestly probably my dream job.)

I then went window shopping and ended up scoring a most fabulous deal on bridesmaid jewelry.

I am on FIRE today. (Please say “fire” in the Sid the Sloth voice from Ice Age to accurately understand my excitement hehe.)

Well when I opened the door to let our pup out this morning a chipmunk ran into the house. Poor guy was hanging onto the screen door! He crawled into one of my shoes – awesome – and it took quite a while to get him out. I was freaking out because FH wasn’t home and I have other pets in the house that I didn’t want to eat him!

That was my exciting morning πŸ™‚

@Mrs.tobe: Dungeon of Doom! Did you get your new DVD’s yet? How are they?

I’m suffering through work with terrible back pain. Getting x-ray results tomorrow. Chiropractor told me I was “one tough cookie” after examining me and said he couldn’t believe I sat all day yesterday at work.

That’s all a nice ego stroke and all, but it doesn’t make my back hurt any less.

Dinner with my women’s networking group tonight (which should be fun) if I can sit for long enough to enjoy dinner.  Being SO ouchy sucks a lot!Cry

All I want to do is go home and plop down on the couch and watch tv, but I can’t even do that because the only remotely comfortable position for me right now is laying flat on my back on the hardwood floor.

On top of all that, Fiance is leaving Tuesday for London and won’t be back for 2-3 weeks. He’ll be “running” the London office for the next few months so we’ll only see each other on and off.

ETA: one good thing DID happen today though, one of my coworkers just saw me and said, “You’re really getting thin.” Which was nice to hear, since according to the scale I gained 11lbs last week.

@KatNYC2011: Oh, gosh, I hope your back feels better soon! I just injured my coccyx not long ago, and it’s still not right, so I can’t even imagine how much worse this sounds. Good luck!
