@socalgirl1689:  I’m also an ice cream person! We have the ube, cookies and cream and neapolitan currently. I really wanted to try pandan ice cream…I love pandan…but it wasn’t in stock and my delivery guy replaced it with ube. There is a Seafood City here but I’ve never been. It’s a Filipino supermarket, yes?

@Souzie:  Yes, it’s a Filipino Supermarket. I always see pandan flavor but haven’t tried it. The other Magnolia flavors I like are mango and cheese/queso (some people don’t like this taste). I think I just continued to buy the same flavors my mom did when I was growing up LOL

@socalgirl1689:  Does it taste like those breads with butter, sugar and cheese on top? I don’t know what it’s called…and I’m just assuming you’re Filipina now…my apologies if you’re not not! I saw the cheese flavor when I was doing our groceries and was quite intrigued. I think you should try the pandan and I’ll try the cheese!!

Just so I don’t derail the thread, here are the braised glass noodles I made last night. Tonight, I’ll be making jambalaya..

Don’t wanna derail the thread either but for tonight, it will be chicken ramen with veggies (not the instant kind but made from scratch).

@Souzie:

My mom is Filipino so I’m half. Are you Cambodian (from previous threads)? The pastry you mentioned is called ensemada/ensaymada (not sure of the spelling). The cheese ice cream taste somewhat similar to that. I heard someone say it taste like a stick of frozen butter though LOL. Sure, you try one flavor and I’ll try the pandan next time.

I’m having egg whites scrambled with feta, turkey bacon, and an English muffin with butter.  I’m a big fan of breakfast for dinner because I never eat actual breakfast before work.

@socalgirl1689: Butter…who doesn’t love butter? I just added a tub of queso ice cream for next week’s delivery.

I’m Laotian/Vietnamese but I identify more with my Laotian side. I’ll admit, I don’t know much about that side of my culture but Vietnamese food sure is great and I cook a lot of it! yell

Vietnamese beef stew I made recently…

Just went to the grocery store in person for the first time in weeks and stocked up! We’re having roasted chicken, macaroni and cheese, and potato salad.

My SO feels like having meat and potatoes so Boeuf/Beef Bourguignon it is (with potatoes, carrots, onions and mushrooms). Plus today’s Sunday so there’s a special dessert of creme brûlée

We had bacon cheeseburgers last night, picadillo tonight, and we will have chicken stuffed manicotti tomorrow, and a Middle-Eastern chicken and rice dish Tuesday. The rest of the week Dh is cooking, so I am not sure what we are having later in the week.

Oh, and I made a lemon cookie recipe today, and I have three other cookie recipes I have line up to try: pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, nutella stuffed chocolate cookies, monster cookies (oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips, M&Ms), and ranger cookies (made with crushed corn flakes and/or puffed rice cereal).
