@sauerdragon:  I would literally die if I had to take care of 10 newborns. I used to think having twins would be cool, but now I have no idea how people survive with more than one baby!

Snowden:  I suggest you never get a dog….That is cruel

I don’t have a baby, but worked at a daycare. I think a baby is harder, but in defense of the puppy people, at least you can take a baby places. With a puppy, you can’t leave the house all day, and often you cannot bring the puppy with you. Whereas you can bring babies into stores, restaurants, other people’s homes, etc.

Tiamariaqqq:  I didn’t say that is what I would do with a dog. I have had puppies/ dogs that have all been well behaved house dogs but I have worked with animal rescue groups where we often picked up dogs who had been abused as puppies and had behavioural problems which were often stuck chained up in the yard or in a kennel. Raising a puppy is hard but having done both I would still go with newborn.

Snowden:  With that logic though, couldn’t you say, if you mess up with a baby you can just send it to military school, or let it get arrested, or commit it to an insane asylum? Obviously I am exaggerating what you said- but I wouldn’t use an arguement of what you CAN do if you screw up raising something. I also think babies are harder to care for, but you have to admit, what you said sounded pretty awful. Not saying you are an awful person, but it did come off kind of bad.

Just the fact that the two are being compared is silly to me. I’ve done both and the experiences don’t even come close to being comparable. I totally agree with pp’s who’ve said those who vote puppy probably do not have babies and those people are really in for it when they do!

    GingerBaby :  THIS.

A puppy doesn’t even compare to the difficulty of a newborn baby….not even close.
