I just got engaged and my Fiance wouldn’t tell me the details of my ring.
I don’t care even if it’s 0.5ct to be honest but I just love to know my specs. But unfortunately, I’m not good at guessing and would really need your help 🙂
I’m a size 6.5, I know the background light is yellow. My bad.

I’m not good at this but if someone put a gun to my head and said “guess” I’d say between .75 to 1 ct.

He wouldn’t tell you the details of your ring?
Anyway. Looks like 1ct to me.

Looks to be between 0.75-1 carat. It’s beautiful!

He wouldn’t tell you the specs on your own ring? That’s a weird thing to refuse- you’re the one that is going to be wearing it everyday!
I would say it’s just shy of a carat, and it’s absolutely beautiful!

He didn’t want to tell me… His exact words were “… but it is certified by some GI something something”. LOL. I assume he meant GIA. I’m sure I can find the cert somewhere and I’m sure he’ll eventually share it.
I just got engaged 2 weeks ago so it’s not that long ago 🙂

odd. Well, if it’s an actual diamond, you’re going to need some details for the insurance….

Our ring sizes are similar (i wear a 7, my official size is 6.75 but my hands swell quite a bit in the heat). I blew your pic up until our fingers matched up and then held mine up to it and your stone looked just a teensy bit smaller than mine which is one carat (moissy equivalent but that really doesn’t matter here). I would guess 0.8ish maybe, it looks over 0.5 to me. I added a pic for comparison since we also have similar settings. My stone does tend to photograph a little larger than reality because it’s set kind of high, but it still gives a good idea

I would guess .8 – it looks exactly like a ring I have looks on me and that stone is .79 carats and you also have long fingers like me. Its beautiful, congratulations!

Whatever size it is, its very pretty! Maybe stop by a jewellery store and see if they can measure it? It’s probably the easiest way of getting the information without asking him for the papers. Although you will need the papers to insure it soooo…

What a beautiful ring. To me it looks like its between 1-1.25 carat. If you can measure the width in millimeters you can google a size chart to give you a pretty good idea.

That’s strange that he wouldn’t tell you about your ring… Since you’ll need all the information for insurance purposes, I’d go to an independent appraisor in your area (NOT a “certified gemologist” working at a jewelry store). Or, your fiance can save you all the money, time, and trouble and just give you the paperwork — which is the documentation from GIA, AGS, or whatever lab graded the stone.
You need to push for this, because it’s irresponsible to have your ring uninsured.

I would guess its about 0.80-1ct but it looks lovely whatever it is.
