I told them about when I would like to have it since we live far away. I told them my ideas about potential themes that I liked. They are going to be doing all of the work, but just asking for my input and approval along the way.

For mine, I just gave them the guest list, what foodI’d like, and told them the theme I wanted. Team Green so it couldn’t be the typical pink or blue thank goodness! Mine was a rubber duckie theme. Otherwise, I didn’t do anything and wasn’t allowed.LOL

i think this depends on you and the people throwing your shower.  if you have a certain vision then it’s likely you will have to be more involved.  but if not, i would say just provide a guest list and whatever else they ask you for.  ask the folks throwing it what they want your involvement to be.  I threw 2 showers for my BFF (bridal and baby) and, frankly, she was such a control freak i felt she should have just planned them herself.  so, yeah, get everyone’s expectations clearly defined.

I just provided the guest list and helped come up with the date. My mom, sister, and SIL threw it, so they know me well enough to do the rest.
