Help! Last year my dog barfed ALL over my comforter and I couldn’t just wash it so I tossed it. GROSS. So now it’s getting cold and I’m liking a couple duvet covers from West Elm, but I’ve never had a duvet. What do y’all like on your bed?? I kinda like modern/mid century modern prints, too. Heeeeeeelp!

I have 2 down-alternative duvets – a lighter one for warm weather and a heavier one for winter. Plus a duvet cover. We also just got flannel sheets because even though it only gets into the high 40’s at night it is very cold because our rental house does not have great hearing. I LOVE THE FLANNEL SHEETS. (Shouting on purpose.)

Gross! At least that gives you a reason to find something new! We have a trendy designed comforter from Target. We try not to overuse the house heater, so we also have a mattress cover warmer. When I was single, I would double fold the full size comforter to maximize the warmth, but now Darling Husband maximizes my warmth :).

Flannel sheets, a primaloft comforter, and I wear microfleece jammies. 🙂

I have a quilt on my bed at my place, and my SO has a comforter on his bed. I’ve never had a duvet, but I feel like I would like one when we live together. My SO is a crazy sleeper and the sheets always disappear, so he ends up sleeping right against the comforter, which to me is kind of gross. I feel like if we had a duvet I’d be able to take off the cover and wash it every time I wash the sheets, which I don’t feel like you can do with a comforter.

I love my duvets!!
i have a mix of organic cotton hotel type blankets with hypoallergenic duvets — I have two duvet covers, one is a 100% cotton modern blue and white print (west elm and oddly Amazon were the two places I found covers I liked the best) and the other is apricot silk left over from my single bed days:-)
I look for ties in the inner corners and something that’s easy to wash.

Duvet all the way! I’ve always had one and have always loved it.
And in the winter add a flannel sheet set. Max cozy.

Darling Husband is a like a furnace and I prefer to be on the cooler side at night, so all I use is a flat sheet topped with a fleece blanket. That way I can take off a layer if I get too warm. My feet get super cold sometimes though so I’ll occasionally stick a heating pad just at my feet!

I have a comforter, a heated blanket, and a sheet right now. I live in PA, so it gets pretty cold here, when it starts dipping into freezing temps I break out the fleece sheets. I’ve never had a duvet cover, although I have seen a few super cute ones, so I can’t say yay or nay to them. I have heard they’re a pain to put on though haha.

duvet all the way! Get a nice warm down one and then the covers are cheap so you can have a few to change up the look whenever you want. Plus the covers fit in a regular washer.

Does SLO stand for a Cal town? I love that town! And I also LOVE FLANNEL SHEETS, TOO!! I’m in the market for some of those as well! I get overwhelmed with all the choices out there. Internet and all ya know.
The grossest! I love Target! Mattress cover warmer?? Helloooooo! We overuse our heater because there’s NEWSPAPER for insulation. Gotta love 1941 technology.
Oooo, I’ll check out the microfleece jammies! I love me some flannel sheets!
I love the idea of being able to wash it more often, too! And changing up the style kinda easily.
Dontcha just love West Elm?? I’ve looked on Amazon, too, but man there are a jillion choices. I just need someone to say, “Choose between these 3.” I’ve heard there are duvet connectors (don’t know the proper term) that you can use if there are no ties. Think they work??
Yeah, I’m thinking duvet and flannel sheets is the right formula!! And a cup of hot cocoa.
By the way, WB is now showing me ads for comforters from Wayfair haha!

No recommendations…but being a fellow Minnesota gal, where are you located??? (feel free to PM me instead of posting here if that’s more comfortable…)

Wow, he’s hot blooded! Yeah, I’m afraid to get too hot so I might try a light weight or medium weight at first.
I’m all ready for fleece! It’s supposed to be 24 degrees tonight. Oh yeah, I’ve heard duvets are tricky to stuff, too. Hmm….
Yeah, I’m lanig towards a duvet. I don’t know about down, though. I’m afraid I’ll get too hot! I usually have a dog squished up against me.

We have sheets (bamboo … love them.), a quilt, and then we just pule the blankets on. We really like having more blankets, simply because we can pull them on or off if we’re too hot/cold. I’m much more of a comforter fan, though, I will admit, over duvet. I find the covers to hold weirdly to it compared to a comforter.

Did you narrow your Amazon search “graphic print duvet” or “duvet with ties” ? — I searched for all cotton, and there weren’t that many. Idk about those other things, I just love the ties, they make it so much easier!
