- Wedding: August 2011
I’m working on our vows, ceremony readings, and ceremony music.
Then going to tackle the all important program fans.
What are you August brides up to this week?
I’m working on our vows, ceremony readings, and ceremony music.
Then going to tackle the all important program fans.
What are you August brides up to this week?
We just picked up our wedding bands yesterday, and my veil came in the mail. This week I have to set up my hair trial and makeup trial. And seeing as our RSVP deadline is in 3 days and we have less than half of our responses back… I’m sure a big chunk of this week will be spent calling people up to ask whether they’re coming or not!
Tomorrow I’ll start following up on RSVPs. I have 30 people left, and most are my parents’ friends. I’ll leave those to my mom 🙂
We’re doing our pre-wedding moon on Sunday, so we’re packing for the wedding, honeymoon, and leaving on Friday to drive to LA! Then we’re gone for a week!
I’ll try and finish my vows, talk to our officiant to confirm our ceremony, and set up appointments for vendors for the week before the wedding.
AHHH it’s coming too fast!
-Buy Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts
-Buy new belt for fiance
-Buy fishing line to hang lanterns
-Get sand from the beach for my part of the sand ceremony
-Finish and decorate place cards
-Finalize cost with florist & cake
-Finalize payment for luau on honeymoon
-2nd dress fitting
…. I’m probably forgetting a lot
this week I have to find a hairdresser and fold and bind the colouring books
I also have to get in touch with our officiant and finalize the ceremony programs so I can print and cut and fold and bind those…..
Hum… this week I want to get the programs tied and completed, tables and positioning in the room figured out, and to practice our first dance a little more. I’m kinda nervous about having everyone watching!
For this week I have:
– Hair & Makeup Trial
– 2nd wedding dress fitting
– Our 1st 2hr dance lesson (2 lessons total)
– Paying off balance to the dj/lighting guy & discussing floral floor washes & monograms
– Scour Youtube for an EASY group dance we can teach the bridal party ***anyone know any easy/fun dances? It’s something we’re trying to transition from our 1st dance to a group bridal party dance.
– Buy 2 guestbook & pen sets (Bride’s side & Groom’s side). It’s mainly for addresses. We’re hoping the line of 300+ guests won’t be too long when signing in there. In fact, we’re not having a receiving line b/c that’ll eat away too much time from the cocktail hour.
– Get (3) 45 min sessions in on the elliptical
– Drop off an invitation to our florist (who also happens to be my mom’s friend), so she can get a sense of our wedding style. Ask her about how the diy hanging candle holders are going. & finally, see what she says about my fantasy with stringing and hanging (fake) orchids on the pergola for the ceremony.
– Eye shop for a rehearsal dinner dress/outfit
this week’s to do list:
2nd dress fitting
figure out mani/pedi location
touch base with florist
follow-up with RSVP non-responders
order photo guest book
order stickers or labels for Out of Town bags
This week’s to-do:
Finish programs (print ten more and assemble)
Buy confetti
Finish table runners (three more)
Finish Bouts
write vows
Finish escort cards
Pick up dress and hope it fits!
Pack up all my stuff
travel from atlanta to boston for pre-wedding visit with the family.
Ahhh this week is super busy, just like all of you!
We’re working on our ceremony tonight (which we have totally neglected btw!)
Deciding how many more moo cards I want to order (seriously addicted to them!)
Getting our final numbers to the caterer
And getting those programs and escort cards started!!
-Final venue payment
– Practice first dance
– Submit newspaper announcements
– Buy cardstock for programs
– Mail the rest of invites.
Fiance will be out of town for his bachelor party this weekend so I’ll be taking over the entire house with DIY projects!
On my list for this week/weekend:
– Work on programs
– Finish menus
– Knitting projects (flower girl’s sweaters & pillows as thank you gifts)
– Cut ribbon for centrepieces
– Follow up with people who didn’t RSVP
– Think of a wedding gift to give Fiance
– Maybe go buy some wedding night lingerie 🙂
The following weekend (August long weekend here in Canada) will be filled with lots of tasks!!
1. find rehearsal dress
2. final dress fitting on saturday!
3. final meeting with florist on saturday!
4. hair cut (trim)
5. pay final reception bill (yikes)
