My Fiance is moving tomorrow(YAY) and we are having about 3 guys help us. I am planning on having ice cold gatorade for them but I am stuck on what kind of snacks men would like for/during a move. I know there will be breaks in the move and I would like to keep up their strength and energy. 🙂
So bees, what would you like if you were helping your friends move? Ask your husbands and FI’s what he would like for a snack during a move.
Thanks bees. Wish us luck. 🙂

DH’s good friends helped us move in the summer heat, so we had lots of freezie pops. They devoured them! We also had cold sodas and water, and we ordered pizza for lunch.

cold anything and subway or pizza would be good

Something filling but not heavy. I can’t think of anything worse than having to move heavy things in the heat after a lunch that makes me drowsy lol.
Some sandwiches would be nice, but maybe a “higher end” sandwich? Some artisan bread and good cold cuts would likely hit the spot.

Do you think they’ll snack when they’re moving stuff? I would just order some pizzas and maybe chicken wings. Or some subs cut into smaller portions. Stuff they can grab and eat without having to sit down with a plate.
Good idea with Gatorade. Water, soda, too.

When my husband’s friends helped me move in, they were very happy to get treated to pizza and beer after.
During the move, have lots of ice water, iced tea, lemonade, soda, etc.

In the midwest beer and pizza are the standard after the work is done..during I guess water would be better than the beer 😉

Pizza and beer after is pretty much the standard in our group of friends. Although to my great amusement, when my in-law’s helped us moved a few weeks ago my Mother-In-Law brought over little individual pan pizzas and non-alchoholic beer (since her and Father-In-Law don’t drink and I’m knocked up).

@MapleMoose: Exactly what I was going to suggest!

What time are you starting? When we moved, we started in the morning so I ran to Dunkin Donuts and had a box of coffee and munchkins waiting when they arrived. I know the coffee in particular was appreciated. Aside from water and gatorade to keep them hydrated, I didn’t have anything else for while they moved – I knew they would just want to focus on getting the job done. At the new house, we ordered pizza and had chips, veggies, etc for lunch after we unloaded.

What time of day are they starting? If it’s first thing in the morning, I’d have some coffee and some bagels or donuts for them.
If it’s around lunchtime, I’d have some pizza and chicken wings ordered.
…and, give them 6 or 12-packs of beer to take home 🙂

Beer and Pizza, but I would be afraid of the driver drinking beer…. I think it would be better to have coke and 7-up…..

Gatorade, beef jerkey, 6″ subway subs, chips, trail mix and a six pack for each when they’re done!

I think pizza and beer is the ‘standard’ for afterwards but I would probably do a few clif bars and gaterade. 🙂
