Purse, always a purse for me.  Or jewlery if you’re not really a handbag person.

I’ll second what PP said: a classy, high-end purse is my go-to item when I want to treat myself. I’m really liking my new Ampersand as Apostrophe Sideways Tote. For Christmas, I bought my sister a gorgeous Liebeskind bag and she’s in love with it.

I’d probably get a piece of jewelry, like a nice RHR or band. Anytime I want to treat myself I get new pajamas lol, so I might be tempted to do new pajamas or a nice, new pair of sheets from Hotel Collection

I got a nice RHR as a gift to myself when I passed a big professional certification test.

wonderwedding :  I think that deciding to splurge on an item (or a few) depends on what brings you joy, or even what you feel is missing from your life. Do you collect anything? I love handbags, jewelry, and shoes too, but I tend not to spend nearly as much on them as I do on the former. I love genuine leather bags and own a couple of rogue bags by Coach. I don’t think “luxury” when I think of Coach, but their 1941 collection bags are very well made and feel luxurious.

If jewelry is your thing then you could buy something nice, like a pair of diamond studs or something you feel your collection is missing. I wear a Tiffany charm bracelet just about every day since I bought it a year ago. You could consider things that need upgrading ex. remote starter for your car, appliances around the house, wardrobe… While I was doing my Christmas shopping, I treated myself to some new jeans, leggings, and bras, as I had to retire a couple of worn out staples. I didn’t go overboard, but it’s amazing what a few new pieces will do!

You could also put the money toward a memorable experience, like a trip or a concert/show. My best memories from 2018 were our travels, concerts, and musicals (Hamilton was amazing!). So maybe splurge on tickets and a nice dinner? I could go on and on, as it’s so easy to spend other people’s money! LOL

Shoes, new gadget, purse, massage and facial, or a really nice jacket.

When I got my current job/pay raise I bought a secondhand Hermes bag on Ebay (even for a splurge I didn’t want to pay full price, haha). If I were you I would probably get a purse, leather boots, or nice wool coat. Those are all things that you can use almost every day, so to me it makes sense to splurge a bit. I wouldn’t splurge on something that will just sit in my closet.

If you’re not into any of those ideas, a nice dinner out or weekend getaway? Like a couple of nights in a cute bed and breakfast would be fun! Or nice headphones or airpods.

A purse/handbag, a nice leather jacket, shoes, or a gadget/accessory of some sort (watch, phone, air pods, etc.)

I’d do a weekend getaway at some nice spa hotel. I tend to like to do things rather than acquire things, so anytime I get some extra money I like to treat myself to an experience like a weekend away, a show, a dinner cruise or something like that.

wonderwedding :  I don’t know what your style is but I just found Freebird boots by Steven and now I’m addicted. I have 5 pairs of them and they are fabulous and the leather is amazing. Super thick leather and the designs are unique. Did I mention that I love them? LOL.  They range from about $200 – $400.

Personally for 500, I’d treat myself to a weekend away. Or some new kitchen gadget.
