My guy suggested renting children to fulfill flower girl and ring bearer roles (we have no super young relatives) I’m DYING!!!

FI is constantly shocked as to why we are doing anything "so far in advance"

Not engaged or planning (yet) but we’ve discussed likes and dislikes for weddings.

HE recently suggested 1) crowd surfing and 2) us singing a song together (neither of us are singers nor have good voices).

I hope he was kidding.

This morning we were talking about how the ceremony will work – who walks down the aisle when, etc.  I said we will need to figure out how he is getting up front and he looked at me confused and said "aren’t I just there waiting?"  I said he still has to get "there" somehow!!  He can’t just appear!!  But he didn’t seem to understand.  I am just picturing him standing there for 25 minutes or so as everybody comes in or just "appearing" before the ceremony!  We will need to finish that conversation another time  : )

Ugh, mine just seems to think his mom (who does not want us to get married) should be included on everything–like going to bridal shows with me and my mom!

So I asked my Fiance to go with me to pick up my Crenoline Skirt (I bought a used one for $30 and when I am done with it I can take it back in and get $15 back). He says sure. We get to the store and they go to the back to bring it out for me to try on, while we are waiting Fiance looks at me and very seriosly asks "baby, what is a Grimlin", I looked at him and smiled as I said honey that is the little monster that sits under my dress and bites anyone who gets to close. Then I almost fell over because he was not making a joke he really thought the clerk at the store was going to bring out a green thing that he was going to try and talk me out of.

By The Way: Mine wanted to put all of the Groomsmen in White Tuxes and could not understand why that bothered me, so I told him I would buy a black dress. So then he says he will wear white. It took me weeks and phone call to both our mothers to talk him out of this. The boys are wearing black with White vests and ties.

I can’t wait to see what the next thing will be….. He does get some credit, he did a great job helping me plan the ceremony and most of the ideas were his.

I decided to dye my hair a darker color using the ever popular at-home kits that I’ve been using for years. I decided to go from blonde to dark brown, and after dyeing it, I realized that the dark didn’t go as dark as I thought it would since it had to cover light blonde. I showed my Fiance and said…"What do you think of my hair?" He said "I think it needs another coat."

This isn’t paint, darlin. We can’t just slap on another coat. Ah my funny dude.

cmk1215 – My Fiance did the same thing!  He was just going to "be there!"  I actually had to draw a map and say "ok, you get out of limo here…then eventually you will need to walk to HERE!"

Trying to explain Spanx to him was pretty funny also.  And when I showed him the purely functional bra I would be wearing, he just kind of looked confused.

My fiance didn’t know that he had to buy a wedding band! He’s so adorably clueless.

The best was when my Fiance and I were talking about the ceremony. We’d already decided on the song I was going to walk down the aisle, too, and then he casually mentioned probably needing to pick some songs and readings for the beginning of the ceremony, before I walk down the aisle. I reminded him that I walk down the aisle at the BEGINNING of the ceremony and he got kind of confused and said, "Oh, I thought there was some other stuff that came first before that….I guess I haven’t been to a wedding in a while…." I just about died laughing, imagining him starting the ceremony before I walked up the aisle, getting to the "I do’s" and only then realizing that I wasn’t up at the alter yet :-P. He was a bit embarrassed. Needless to say, I will indeed be walking down the aisle at the BEGINNING of the ceremony :-).

Oh, and I also had to talk him out of green for our bridesmaid dresses. I love green, but we’re letting our bridesmaids pick whatever dress they want as long as it’s the same color (brown), and I tried to explain that it would be really hard to make sure all the greens matched. He didn’t quite get that concept and for several weeks afterwards, whenever he saw something green he’d point and say, "How about this green?"

Mine is that there happened to be a blog topic on garters with a link to a website that featured really beautiful ones on models. I have never given a thought to the garter idea, and I wasn’t sure if he’d be into it, so I opened up the website and decided to find out.

I put the laptop in his face and said “Look, do you like this?” He is looking really confused and goes “What?” I say “The garter!” He’s looking even more confused and is like “What’s the garter?” I pointed to it … and he says “Looks like a headband.” Ok. SO I NIXED that. He didn’t find it sexy and thinks it’s a headband for the thigh =)

KonaRiley, I know what you mean. My fiance has sat through several … almost all… of my many apt’s … once he asked a potential florist “How am I doing?” and she told him that she’s NEVER seen a groom sit through these meetings.

He looked at me, I looked at him … and I’m like “Uhhh. Love you.” Lol.

My Fiance can’t understand why we might possibly want a DOC.  He always says, “but what would they do?  There’s not that much to do.”  So I start rattling things off that will have to be set up on the day of the wedding, and he just looks at me blankly, and says the ever popular, “oh, it’ll get done!”  Yes, but who is going to do it?  He’s clueless sometimes.

He does get lots of credit for being our main contact so far with the venue, hotels and church.  But we’re getting married in his hometown and in his family’s church, so it’s only fair, right?!

Okay Im sitting laughing out loud and crying!! These are all too funny!! I love the COLOR BLUE story….boys will never understand!! haha

I’m still in the early planning phase, but I’m always on these boards and one of the topics was Describe your wedding in 2 words, so i asked the Fiance, giving him examples that other brides gave like:  Fun- Whimical, Rustic-Country, Elegant- Organic.

He’s answer…TRULY EXPENSIVE!!

That kept me laughing for awhile!

My Fiance just has ridiculous ideas on how to save money…like

“Why do we have to rent tuxes?  I’ll just tell the guys to wear black suits.”

“Why does every table need a centerpiece?”

“Why does everything have to match?”

“Can we use fake flowers?”

ahhh!!

<span style=”font-size: 7.5pt; color: black; font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif";”>told him I wanted a monogram on our cake…and he just didn’t get that, he kept saying why would we do that why? That just seems so strange. Then he gets really excited. Saying that he just can’t believe it and that he is really happy for us. Now I am confused. And he says how long have I known? Then it hit me…he was thinking of a sonogram instead of a monogram. He thought I was just trying to drop hints I was pregnant

<span style=”font-size: 7.5pt; color: black; font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif";”>I tell everyone this story. I love him.
