So I just had my year end review. My boss had nothing but glowing things to say about me and nothing negative. She gave me a generous bonus in the amount i expected and a raise. The raise was actually a little smaller than what I got last year and lower than what I expected especially given how well our small company is doing. I know a lot of companies are struggling right now and are not giving raises but our small firm is doing great and because it’s so small I have a direct hand in its success. So I was a little bummed but then thought maybe what I got is really normal. So if you got a merit raise this year or last year I would love to know the percentage that your salary went up.

Nothing, the last job I had froze wages for the last 3 years. The max amount with the company I’m with now is 3% after a year.

I work for state government so we haven’t gotten any kind of raises in 2 years.

I just started a new job in October, so I won’t be getting a raise (and am unsure what they might give others). However, the company I worked for before has had a wage freeze for 3 years and counting.

we have not gotten bonus’ or raises for 3 years now. Not even COLA 🙁

I got 4.5% last year. We get the standard 2% for cost of living. But 2-6% is the range

My review was a few months ago and I got a 6% merit increase. This was on the high side for most people in our company (some didn’t get anything). Fiance and I work for the same company and he got a 5% merit increase but he also makes more than double what I do.

For the last few years, Fiance and I both have gotten 5%. But who knows this year? We’re both just happy we have jobs.

My raise last year was somewhere between 2% and 3%. Hopefully this year’s will be a little higher!

Thanks for sharing ladies. I appreciate being brought down to earth a little bit. Last year my raise was 8% but this year it was 5% so I was a bit disappointed. But I guess 5% is actually pretty fortunate.

Mine was between 5-6% which is pretty much the most you can get where I work. There are quite a few positions at my company though that have had a freeze on their merit increases for the last two years.

I work from home, so I don’t really get raises; however, my Fiance doesn’t work from home and has outstanding reveiws and no raises for the past 3 years. It really sucks because the cost of living and his medical keep going up, but he isn’t able to offset it without a raise.
At this point, we are just happy that he has a job.

I think normally my workplace gives a yearly raise of 2%. I’ve almost been there two years though and our salaries were frozen when I’d been there about 5 months and still haven’t been unfrozen.

last year we had a salary increase freeze and that was for all staff globally, from board of directors to the cleaner. this year increases were between 4% to 8% and bonuses for my level was an average of $15K per person
