Best: ?

Worst: A chrome painted plastic palm tree-shaped bottle opener. Not sure how the palm tree fit into the overall wedding theme? The wedding was held in a hotel ballroom and did not have a “theme” as far as I could tell. They had nice flowers, uplighting, etc. but the palm tree made absolutely no sense.

I haven’t had any bad ones, but probably the best was an ice-cream sundae kit! It was a sundae glass filled with a cellophane bag of toppings. Just add icecream 🙂

Best: anything edible. Probably pistachio macarons since those are my favorite.

Worst: Candles that don’t have a stable base so you end up not using it cause your hosue might catch fire. Soap thats way too small to use for hand washing. Mugs and picture frames of the wedding couple.

Best: FSIL’s wee candle and miniature whisky. Simple but effective.

Worst: A picture frame with a photo of the couple. Really, why.

MrsElle:

Best – Bottle of wine (a good vintage)

Worst – A bottle of wine (home made), and a donation! If you want to donate to a charity, by all means go nuts, but please don’t do it on my behalf…if I want to give, I will do so to a cause I actually care about!

Let me start by saying I haven’t been to many weddings but

worst: little bells. I think they were to ring when you wanted the couple to kiss. But wtheck am I going to do with it after? I don’t even think it said anything on it. Just plain little bells.

Best: Photobooth. My aunt’s wedding was one of the best I’ve been to and she had a SUPER FUN photobooth. We got some great family photos out of it! Her photobooth was so great and so much fun that it’s ruined all other photobooths for me. Nothing compares.

I’m REALLY happy to hear that people like the candy tables/buffets! That’s what I’m doing for my wedding!

Best: Lavender bath salts.

Worst: Anything edible like lollies or cupcakes. It’s not that they’re inherently bad, but after indulging all day at a wedding, I can’t justify eating lollies or cupcakes the day after the wedding, and the boxes they give you to take them home in aren’t sealed, so the cupcakes go stale and the lollies take on water. Basically the food gets gross if you don’t eat it straight away and just gets thrown out, or left behind.

Best: A wooden elephant keyring from an Indian wedding, it’s just super cute. I took off the keyring part and he’s sat by my TV.

Worst: can’t think of anything I was WTF about though my Future Brother-In-Law did have packets of cigarettes for the men at his Chinese wedding, ladies got sweets so I was happy

Best: Homemade shortbread cookies at my cousin’s wedding (simple but incredibly delicious), A giant fortune cookie (the size of a dinner plate) with really funny personalized fortunes inside (the bride wrote them out for each guest)

Worst: A dvd of the couple’s engagement photos (it was a big wedding and I can’t imagine that all 300+ people knew them well enough to care about having their photos)

Best: The Bride and Groom used each of their grandmother’s sweets recipes and had small servings of each of them. The bride’s families sweet was homemade fudge and the groom’s families sweet was homemade butter cookies. I took the fudge, it was delicious. I almost couldn’t wait on the ride home to eat it.

Worst: Those darn coozies. I have like a zillion of them and never use them.
