- Wedding: February 2013 - Colonial Country Club, Ft. Myers, FL
I’ve only been in two weddings, my sister’s and a close friend’s. My friend gave a pretty awesome gift-A monogrammed tote from LL Bean, Givenchy neckace and earings to wear the day of, a $25 gift card to Sephora, and a really pretty monogrammed mug
This is what I’m giving to my BM’s:
Bracelets and earrings from 1928.com to wear the day of
Custom-made bridesmaid clutches
Really soft black robes with lace trim for getting ready
A few small trinkets to fill up the basket I’m going to put everything in
I’m not paying for their hair, but I am going to pay for them to get their nails done

@ay_rad: Where did you find these? This is a great idea, I’d love to get them for my BMs

Finally finished my bridesmaid gifts!!!
-cute pink tribal print tote bags from forever 21
-Victorias Secret kimono
-expandable polka dot makeup bag that I am filling with “emergency” items
-earrings from etsy for them to wear day of
-initial necklace (also got these for flower girl and sister in law)
and Kate Spade idiom bracelets (so cute I had to get one for me too!) but decided to give those as their hostess gifts at the bridal shower. I don’t have a made of honor so all of the girls are hosting the shower.
I am also paying for their makeup the day of. They purchased their $200 dresses and are paying for hair.
I really hope I got them enough. Two of the girls are flying in from out of state and we all went to Cabo for my bachelorette so it hasn’t been cheap for them. I might add a candle, VS fragrance, and bottle of wine to their tote bags too but we’ll see since I have been spending like crazy!!

@glamachica45: Drugs? Really? You know your friends better than I do, but if I received that “gift” I would be pissed. That’s offensive.

@jcl12: Yes, you should still give them something. If the bride expects the BMs to have their hair and makeup done she should pay for it anyway, so calling that their gift isn’t fair. Even if you make them something, they should still all get a gift.

I actually paid for my bridesmaids’ dresses, which were about $200 per, so that’s the big “gift”. I know all of them really appreciated it…for the wedding, I’ll probably put together something cutesy (a cute tote with some things inside), along with a simple necklace for them to all wear at the wedding (but I’m not going to spend a lot on that, since the dresses were a bit pricey IMO).

Lol, I’ve been reading a ton of these threads to help me think of ideas. I don’t have that large of a budget, so that puts a damper on things. But a lot of you bees are giving really awesome gifts!! So far I have personalized engraved wine glasses which I think are pretty spiffy. I was also thinkng of giving makeup bags, a nail polish set, and this eyeliner from Victoria Secret that I know two of my bridesmaids really like.

The gifts don’t all have to be the same. Make each one different. Tailor the gift to the bridesmaid. If my best fit me a robe, any kind of jewelry or a purse/bag of any type I’d know she lost her marbles as none of those are things I would use. Think practical things you can personalize. Journals, wine glasses, books, gym attire, ggift certificates (movies, restaurants, electronics store, music, salon). Picture frame with a way vack when photo and a space for a wedding day photo of the 2 of you that you send later, a special day one on one with each person at a later date to do something they enjoy. Not every bm is the same in a wedding party so their gifts don’t need to match.
The best gifts I’ve received have been a monogrammed day planner (that bride knew I’m super busy juggling famiky owned biz, community activities, starting a side event planning biz, plus personal appointments), tge photo frame filled with pics past thru the wedding, a basket of movies & music, and framed artwork I had on my running amazon wishlist (it’s really for christmas ideas for my fam of things I like/want but she found it and purchased off my list)

these are such lovely gifts! I had gifted my BMs Plum Pretty Sugar robes (http://store.plumprettysugar.com/bridal/
) as well…they absolutely loved them. Each print / color matched their individual personalities and tastes. They tell me they still wear them to this day.
PPS has been coming out with new prints and styles…so pretty!
