Pineapple upside down filling with cherry.   It was just like a pineappel upsidedown cake brown sugar and all!

Mine was almond cake with creme brulee filling and marzipan icing! Yum. 

I also had this great lemon cake with strawberry filling at another wedding.

Ours was incredible, we tried it first and then found out what it was. The flavors were so right, even though the mix sounds crazy. It was a huge success between our guests 🙂 The base was walnut flavoured and it had 2 layers of mascarpone cream and a thin layer of cherry sauce in between, while in the middle it had a layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers. It was “dressed” in almond marzipan.

Chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse filling.

And then standard yellow cake with buttercream frosting filling.

I don’t like the fruit fillings

TGold:  chocolate cake with raspberry layers is one of my faves – i also was at a wedding recently that had white cake with champagne icing and fresh strawberries – so delish!!!

My daughter’s wedding cake. Strawberry champagne cake, filled with multiple layers of French cream (like pudding) and fresh strawberries, covered in the most delicious icing I’ve ever tasted (no fondant, thank goodness!).

One of the tiers of our cake (my favorite flavor!) was white cake layered with cheesecake mousse and fresh strawberries and graham cracker buttercream. SO GOOD!!!

I hate to be biased, but our wedding cakes were amazing! We did a cake buffet instead of a traditional tiered cake, but our 2 favorites was a white chocolate mousse cake (sponge cake with white chocolate mousse filling) and our mango mousse cake (sponge cake with mango mousse and raspberry roulade filling).

Lemon flavored cake–which was super moist with rasberry cream cheese filling! Not the super sweet type of filling either, it was creamy and jusssssst sweet enough!! Swear I couldn’t get enough of that cake…mmm!! Happy tasting!!

TGold:  I am biased since this was my own wedding cake…but we did red velvet with cannoli cream and chocolate chips filling. Buttercream frosting on the outside with white chocolate shavings. 🙂
