Hi bees! So Fiance is taking me to Sephora tomorrow to buy makeup! YAY! Im doing my own make up for the wedding. I was going to buy a dinair airbrush system, but idk, im just having a hard time spending $200+ on it. And i want to do my own makeup so paying for airbrush isnt an option. I like doing it myself, its fun and i know what i like 🙂 So i figure I can take like $100- $150 and get some great brushes and make up and still have money left over for other things. But i have never bought my make up anywhere other than walmart so im not sure what would be best. I have combination skin, very dry in some places, oily in others, and acne prone. Id say as far as coverage i need a little more than average just for the occasional acne and a few scars. OH. And i have really red skin sometimes. Idk y, somedays is not at all, others its red as can be! I use green physicians formula powder, but ive heard great things about clinique. So any suggestions?

Smashbox is really good!
I have had the airbrush makeup done on me at a SEPHORA and it was really AWESOME! But its PRICEY, if you wear make up normally then it’s a good investment.

I am a big fan of Urban Decay and Makeup For Ever. Both are high quality, shadows are pigmented and they are long-lasting.
I am also a very, very large fan of MAC Cosmetics. They dont sell them at Sephora, but oh man, it is totally worth tracking them down. My favorite lipstick shade of all time is from MAC.

I have heard good things about smashbox. I was thinking of using one of those spray setter things, lol, that are supposed to keep your make up in place. I’ve heard those are great.

Hi im a color consultant and makeup artist at sephora. I recommend the following products based on the info you gave. Daily moisturizer- clinique redness Solution. Primer- smashbox correction primer (green bottle). Foundation- nars sheer glow for even tone, coverage and hydration or makeup forever for maximum coverage ( may cause breakouts but great for special occassion ). Blush- nars, sephora and the balm. Concealor- the balm, smashbox or lorac. Mascara- dior, laura mercier, buxom. Eyeshadow- urban decay (naked pallette), too faced Romantic eye classic, and all the dior shadows (fabulous but pricey). Eyeshadow primer- urban or too faced. Lipstick- makeup forever, kat von d, sephora. Finishing powder- tarte, laura mercier. Liner- makeup forever or stila. Also ask for as many samples as you want if you are unsure of a product. Sephora has np giving out samp,es and has a great return policy.

Just take all the items back and based on condition they will decide if you get store credit or refund. I higly recommend the airbrush kit. I have one for personal use and in my pro kit as well. Doing and exchange for the airbrush kit shouldnt be a problem since you are purchasing something of greater value.

I’m a huuuuge fan of Makeup Forever. Love their HD foundation and lipglosses, but I’ve never tried their eyeshadows.
I really like MAC and Urban Decay eyeshadows- they last forever.

Urban Decay Primer Potion is a must. Urban Decay eyeshadow is great, as well – real blendable and creamy (check out the naked palette if they have it in stock). Nars blush is my fav – real pigmented, perfect for wedding day pictures. HTH.

Smashbox and Urban Decay eyeliners are excellent, the Hourglass Calligraphy eyeliner pen is also great.
Bare Minerals eye shadows are excellent as well.
