My sister was married on December 20 and now wants to sell her couture wedding gown. She lives out of the country, so I’m doing it for her. Has anyone done this? What sites are the best? I’ve looked at WB Classifieds, Ebay, Preownedweddingdresses.com, oncewed.com and bellancora.com.
Mahalo for your help!

I posted my extra wedding dress on both preownedweddingdresses.com and oncewed.com. I got about 6 inquiries through preownedweddingdresses.com and non through oncewed.com. I ended up getting two serious buyers and was able to sell it after about 3 months. You could also post on craigslist (free) to try to sell it to someone local.

Before I found "the one" I checked http://www.bravobride.com for dresses. They have a really great set up and it’s very organized. The dresses range from couture to chain store dresses. I would check them out since I don’t believe they charge for posting like ebay does.

When I sold my couture gown, I thought I would wait a while, get it professionally cleaned, measure it and then post it on one of the aforementioned sites. In the mean time I just posted it with my other items for sale on the Knot’s Trash to Treasure board and on the Wedding Bee Classifieds. I got exactly my asking price and no hassle. THe bride even wanted to clean it herself. It worked out perfectly for me and I paid no fees to any listing sites.
