The best one ever was an authentic key chain that came from Mongolia or Turkistan because the dad of the groom was among the most influential academics in the field about Gokturks. The grooms name was also Gokturk.

Very short list:

  • This was at a recent wedding: PET TOYS!! The couple are HUGE pet lovers and big into rescue. There was a table with two giant baskets – one with dog toys and one with cat toys. There were posters on easels next to the table with photos of them and their pets from over their lifetime, which in itself was so much fun to look at! Pics of  them and their dogs and cats from when they were babies up to their present menagerie. There was a  sign on the table that said if you didn’t have pets to take one anyway and donate to a shelter or a friend. They were not crappy toys either – I can’t imagine how much they spent! BEST favor ever!!!
  • Beautifully decorated DELICIOUS shortbread cookies. I was so glad I ate one before the wedding was over and discovered how good they were, because there were so many left that the bride told me to take all of them if I wanted to! I threw them in the freezer and snacked on them for weeks….

You didn’t ask, but the worst one I got at a wedding was an engraved glass coaster. No, I don’t want a single coaster that is made of the least effective material coaster-wise with your names/wedding date engraved :/

I got beer glasses at a wedding and we use them all the time. They are engraved but it’s nice it was a friends wedding. They were nice beer mugs and they’re in our glassware! I vote beer glasses.

A friend had little bottle openers that looked like keys. We all still use them and people often ask where I got it!

Everyone has already told you what not to do, and how the best favors are edible. At my wedding I had truffle Oreo balls (mouthwatering) and I had what is called a “flying photo booth”. Basically it creates a flip book for the guest that appears like you are moving when you flip it quickly. Everyone loved it. It was super cute.
I see you are really set on favors, so I just want to offer some advice. Try not to get fixated on small things like this when it comes to your wedding. I promise you, no one will care as much as you think they will. Brides always want this day to be perfect, and we sweat the small stuff. When the day comes and goes in a blur (and it will) you will understand that things like favors are not part of what makes the day amazing. Congrats and good luck to you!
