My step brothers fiance. Her centre stone is huge, and she has many layers of small diamonds wrapping around it. It basically goes to her knuckle. Massive.

MY SIL has a 3+ carat center. Very pretty and the largest I’ve seen IRL so far.

I’ve seen a lot of big rings, but I have no idea how large they are.

ETA:  We had a 4 ct diamond at the jewelry store I used to work at, so I guess that would be largest I’ve seen that I know of.  No one bought it while I was working there.

The woman working at the store where I bought my wedding ring had a cushion cut solitaire over 3 ct. easily. In my area, 1 ct. is considered a pretty big rock, so that seemed huge to me. It made me wonder if she gets a good discount!

I have seen an 8 ct. before. It was massive. However, I was not a very good quality stone. It was very milky looking. Not pretty. But I have seen a gorgeous 5ct radiant cut. retailed for $250,000.

About 3 carats was the largest, but she was married to the son of the owner of the company I work for.

1 carat around here is considered pretty large!

I was at the jewelry store with my mom and the lady shoved a 7ct ring on my finger (picture below)…other than that my mom’s best friend had a 5ct from her first marriage and she just got engaged last week with a 3ct center and tons of smaller diamonds on the sides….

Sorry its so big! I’m at work and can’t resize it!

I once tried on Elizabeth Taylor’s diamong ring, its 33 carats. It was bizarrely huge and felt incredibly heavy.

DH’s grandma has a two carat radiant cut ring. It’s sooo gorgeous. I probably look like an idiot around her occasionally because I just can’t look away, haha.

A guy where I grew up had a Native American turquoise ring that went from his hand to his knuckle.I was 6 or 7 at that time, and it amazed me that the stone was as big as my fist.

When I was a freshman in highschool my science teacher had this massive diamond ring, I would guess it was 4ct (or even more) rectangular cut.

One day a male friend of mine noticed it and said “Oh my god, that rock is massive!” and she burst into tears and left the room.  We all felt horrible and apologized later.  Come to find our her husband had been a very successful banker and had just passed away that summer (just a few weeks before).

Honestly, I think if we had sad anything at all about her ring the same reaction would have happened but it really taught me to try and be polite and think about how to react to women’s rings, they can be such an emotional subject!

A family friend has 5 carat that she just got for her 40th anniversary! It’s round set on a wide band and it’s stunning! On her other hand she has a 2 carat blue diamond in a halo setting…. I stare at her hands everytime I see her 🙂

My mom’s friend has a 2 carat, I think that’s probably the biggest I’ve seen on a regular person and not in a jewelry store. Most women in this area have between .5-1 carat I would say.

Well, I’m not sure if this is what you mean as I’m not talking about stones, but there is a TON of gold nugget jewelry in Alaska and it gets ridiculously huge/intricate.
