1. I went to Peru on a mission’s trip.
2. I kicked cancer’s ass. Okay so maybe modern medicine, and doctor’s did that. But, it’s a big part of my life. I have been in remission for 19 years.
3. I was on tv for raising money for Leukemia, and Lymphoma society by selling Malley’s candy bars.
4. I was a grand Marshall in a local parade.
5. I got to go to Disney World for 10 days from Make a wish. I always joke that I beat the system. It’s a terrible joke but when I went I was on my death bed.

It was a life-changing moment for all of us, for sure.
I probably should have mentioned that I didn’t just sit around watching my dad have a heart attack and not calling 911 for no reason. It was really unclear (to me at the time) that he was having one. He wasn’t complaining about chest pain or having any “movie-like” symptoms; he was trying to throw up (but couldn’t) and looked awful. He thought he had bad indigestion.
I ended up volunteering for and then working for the Heart and Stroke Foundation for a year after that to educate people (mostly kids) about heart health and the signs of heart attacks. So yeah, nausea – and DENIAL! – are huge warning signs but most people don’t call in time because they’re like me and don’t want to say, “Hi, 911? Yeah my dad is trying to barf and he doesn’t look so great….”
That is awesome. 🙂

you all are far cooler than me.

Skiing in the Swiss Alps and listening to the roar of the snow melting further down. The sound was indescribable.

I was just thinking that haha.
I guess the coolest thing I’ve done was buying a condo when I was 19.

I have two :
1) I went skydiving once! Super amazing fun!
2) I went to see David Copperfield and managed to get myself on stage for his final act! He made me disappear, lol. And I met him back stage after.

Some of my “cool” things kind of pale in comparison to the other bees, but I’ll play!
-I built houses in New Orleans for Habitat for Humanity in 2010
-I’ve done a lot of traveling in the USA with my Fiance which has been an awesome experience.
-Moving to Southern California from Ontario, Canada.
I can’t think of much else that is out of the norm. Some of the bees here have had some exciting lives.

I have been skydiving.
I joined the Army when I was 18.
I made sergeant by the time I was 22.
I was deployed as a medic with and infantry platoon shortly before my 23rd birthday, and didn’t come home until after I turned 24.
I got to swim with sea lions in Mexico.
I walked on a stress-fractured femur for 4 months before it was diagnosed.
I have been to Vegas twice with my Fiance and didn’t come home married either time!
I had a liver biopsy with no pain meds.
I played NCAA lacrosse in college.
I met Pauly Shore at a comedy club in Iowa.
I didn’t realize until I typed it out that I’ve done a lot of pretty neat things in my 30 years 🙂

What an awesome thread! I’ve hiked the trail to Machu Picchu and gone hiking in the Swiss Alps!

Was a part of the official pep-band of the BC Lions (a CFL team), so I got tickets to all the home games plus spare tickets! (plus got to play on the field every game :P)
I have done the Canucks (NHL) national anthem 4 times now
(funny thing is…I don’t really care for sports)
Was the best euphonium player in British Columbia, and so I was flown out to Ontario to play in the national band
Ah…so most of it is music stuff. But it still counts to me

Dang! Macchu Picchu is on my to do list in the near future! I bet it was amazing!

I’ve not done anything super awesome (I’m not very adventurous!)
I interpreted (sign language) on a white water rafting trip for 2 of the middle school girls in the church youth group. I’m terrified of water, not holding on absolutely killed me!
At my job one of my residents is a holocaust survivor, he was in Auschwitz concentration camp. He is one of the sweetest gentlemen I have ever met. Having someone who survived something like that tell you that you have a beautiful heart makes you get all teary-eyed!
Also at my part time job at a resort in the mountains I have babysat for some children of politicians, that was kind of cool 🙂

I am so not cool
Coolest thing I’ve done is move abroad twice, once to study, once to work. (Japan and Korea, respectively.) I think of the first as cooler, because the working thing is kinda cool, but also kinda mercenary, as I had a hard time getting a job back home and this job wanted me.
I adopted a disabled dog… is that cool?
Maybe I should go do something more interesting before I post here haha.

Have way too many to pick a favorite but here is my top list:
1. Gave birth to a baby! Yeah, that was WAY cool.
3. Got my bachelors which led to my own grad gift (travel). 6 countries (not all in one trip) I’ve been to. And… about to graduate from Masters program.
4. Been to Cuba (which is difficult for us U.S. peeps) and did it legally
5. I got ENGAGED!
many more to come…

I’m the only person I know that’s driven a train. All the other cool things I can think of, have been done by someone else I know.
