eocenia: Canadian side. Which is funny since I am from Buffalo (and have never been to the US Canadian wine trail!) If you live in the area you need to try them both, especially Colaneri. I think it is newer but it is awesome! They have the best Chardonnay I haven ever had in my life, and Chardonnay would normally not be my first pick of wines. I have never been to Hillebrand, though I have heard of it.
I am due next month, so hopefully sometime relatively soon I can indulge!

I already told my husband that after I give birth I want a Pot Belly turkey sandwich and a diet coke. I’m only 13 weeks, so I’ve got awhile to go!

This post is making me drool! Dreaming of my first “real” brunch…a bloody mary, eggs benedict, and smoked salmon. Mmmm. And, sushi and wine for dinner!

I’m going to binge on sushi and Coca cola!

nutMeg13: We’re perhaps an hour and a half away from the wine region, so I’ll definitely suggest a small road trip out there next spring/summer. Will absolutely check out the wines you recommended, always nice to try something new!
Bride2BeeVA28: So you stay away from the coke because of the caffeine? I must admit that I have the occasional coke these days. After getting through the first trimester, getting a thumbs up on all ultrasounds and with no bleeding at all I figured it was fine.
Truffle-hunter: Um… blue cheese! Not Camembert though, grandma destroyed that one for me in the first trimester. You see, she often sends packages to me from Sweden – sometimes containing non perishable food products. Well, she had a brain fart and put Camembert in a package that arrived when I was battling my worst morning sickness. I sort of thought I would die that day, the smell of that cheese… Camembert does not ship well between Sweden and Canada!
blue_cat77: Foit gras, absolutely. Feels like a really good thing to eat after the delivery as well, have a sense that we’ll need all the iron we can possibly get!
rebwana: I’ve actually never had a Bloody Mary, perhaps I should try it once the baby is here!
graygodess20: Yupp, there will be binging for sure. 🙂 Hope that I’ll be able to breast feed to use up some of the calories the cheese will add!

eocenia: It’s less the caffeine and more the artificial sweeteners I am avoiding. I know the FDA says they’re fine, but for me, it’s just not something I want to consume when I’m pregnant. I admit I’ll probably go back to my once a week diet soda once I have the baby, though.

Bride2BeeVA28: Ah, fair enough – you did after all write diet coke, I just didn’t think about that part. I’ve never been able to drink diet sodas myself as aspartame makes me sick. I used to consume large amounts of splenda in tea though, which I stopped during the TTC-period. Once I got pregnant tea became disgusting for the longest period of time. I just started to have it last week again, but with sugar instead.

eocenia: SUSHI and Pepsi. A platter of soft cheese and pan seared duck at my favorite wine bar. Sadly no wine. I’m going to nurse.

Christy42213: oh yes! I am going to get started bleaching my hair white again and then, because I’ll be on maternity leave I will start experimenting with all kinds of colours and short styles- strawberry blonde, copper…I talked to my HD about it last night and now I am soo excited. Now to find a way to pay for it all!
And mrscandyv: yes, coke! I’m going to guzzle full strength, icy cold coke.
