I was hoping for around .75 minimum, but I would have been happy with .5 if I had skinny fingers like most bees. My max is also about 1ct… I guess I just have a good idea of what “looks right” on my finger. 🙂

I’m not yet engaged, but I voted 2 carat minimum. And it has to be Tiffany, lol. It’s something I’ve dreamed about since I was a little girl. I’m not materialistic, but my future engagement ring is very important to me.

Would I say no to a smaller carat size? No, but it would be hard to hide my visible disappointment.

I was desperately hoping for at least .75cts, but would have been okay with .5!

My center is 1.00–I LOVE it!

Mine wasn’t a carat but a mm… I wanted at least 6mm stone (around .75-85 depending on the cut of the stone)

    I got a .85  6.14mm

I wanted something between .25 and .5. I ended up with .4, which is perfect.

2 carats was the starting point for my engagement ring.

I’m an artist and work a lot with my hands, plus I live in an urban area and take public transpo a lot. I wouldn’t be comfortable with much more than .5 carats for everyday.

I’m very active and wanted to wear my ring 24/7, so .5 and nothing pointy or stabby.  Size 6 ring finger.  We’d looked some but luckily we were given his mom’s ring (from his dad, short marriage, but without them there wouldn’t have been him) with a .47 marquise, with full “do what you want, even if you want to sell it”.  We wanted to make it ours and came up with a sideways setting where the pointy bits were covered for only a $250 wax mold/melt/recast cost with a local jeweler (shopped around, he had a rep for being great but slow cause he took on too much work).  Sort of a partial bezel, but not… there’s acutally corner tips in there somewhere… we got to hear the jeweler pounding it in and folding the gold.  And joking “I bet you guys wondered what I’m doing to this poor thing.”… he also offered us beer, it was just after hours and he was almost done so the store was closed :).  I’d post pics but my pics keep going poof, so I figure it’s a lost cause. :/.

I am an Encore… so having a Feature Stone the second time round… wasn’t a big deal for me.  I had my heart set on a “Cocktail Style” Ring as my first ERing had been a Solitaire, and I didn’t want to go down that road again (I tried on purpose to make things different this time round)

When it became apparent that Mr TTR thought an ERing should have a “Feature Stone”… I hoped for something in the 0.50 range … in so much as my First Marriage the “Feature Stone” in my ERing wasn’t much more than a chip (and not the best quality)

Mr TTR totally surpassed that… figuring I needed something in the 0.50 to 1.00 range.  I was overwhelmed by his generous nature…

In the end I picked a 0.80 because I thought it was a reasonable size for me and the lifestyle that I have.

It really is a perfect fit for me.  A 1.00 would have been way too big and flashy for my taste… and the fact that I am the type of girl that wants to wear my ring 24/7 x 365 and worry about it as little as possible.

My ERing does that… it looks good, but stands up well to the daily wear & tear (secret I believe is in the Low Setting of the “Feature Diamond”… and the Channel Setting for the others).  It is a very sturdy ring.

We “upgraded” my ring to a smaller, but top-notch, center stone – 0.5 carat F VS1 cushion. I couldn’t be happier and wouldn’t want to go much bigger.

I had a minimum 2 ct – 3 ct total requirement. He went far above my expectations…my set is going to be 5 total. The center stone is 2
