redpeonies:  I live in LA. At least from ring shopping, I noticed it catered toward larger bands and a good amount of clustering in different areas of the ring. Not my style at all so I had a hard time at any chain stores. We got mine in the diamond district.

I am in a more rural area of Canada.   I see a lot of small 3 stones in yellow gold.

I’m in Melbourne, AU. Most of my friends have either 3 stone rings totalling approx 1ct or solitares of around the 1/2 carat mark and side stones. Halos are around in the shops but other than mine, no one I know has one. Clusters are also pretty popular in the shops but I don’t know anyone with one.

The huge stone movement isn’t really a thing here – most people go for practicality over looks (with the exception of a few people who can afford it, most people don’t even know what moissanite is for example).

redpeonies:  I think in my area (NYC metro area) and within my social circle, I mostly see solitaires and halos.  Also I think the most popular diamond shapes are round brilliants and cushions.

I’m in Sydney, AU and size over quality is huge here (as are the rings) along with making non sparkly diamonds look bigger than they are by using lots of halos / encrusted bands / four small diamonds together to give the illusion of a large square cut diamond. Personally I find this trend odd

London here, most people I know have a solitaire and around the 0.5-0.75 range I’d say. I’ve been checking out fingers on the tube too and it actually leans towards the 0.5 end a lot more.
