Kansas City here. I see mostly round solitaires on thin pave shanks, cathedral, trellis princess cut (ie: tall settings), or single/double/triple halos with pave everything. I’m starting to see a few more cushions, especially rounds in cushion halos. In my social group however, traditional round solitares are pretty much the norm.

Another for indiana. I’m the only one in my group of friends that doesn’t have a halo. Princess cuts are huge here too. And I don’t know anyone irl that has a center stone larger than a carat.

@ellagrace  I live in Westchester, and I’m still seeing a lot of Princess cut solitaires or halos in white gold.

I’m in the SF Bay Area and in my crowd, it’s mainly rounds/princesses on pave bands or cushion halos on pave bands. I’m the only one with a plain band of anyone that I know.

I’m in the largest city in Kansas. The most common style I see by far is the halo.

I have a halo, most of my friends have solitaires with pave or channel set bands.

I see a lot of chunky sets with round/princess cuts & channel-set bands. Princess halos and cluster sets are common, too. Mostly white gold. In my social circle, one friend has a lovely round plain-band solitaire, and one has a pave-shank pear halo. Both are pretty uncommon around here, from what I’ve seen. I live in Ohio.

Chicago, and while I see a lot of styles, the most common are halos (on women in their 20’s) although it seems like I’m seeing more solitaires lately.  My friend that just got engaged on Valentine’s Day has a gorgeous round solitaire on a plain platinum band.

Southeast Asia: whatever style you can afford. Only a small percentage of the population can afford real diamonds, let alone diamond haloes or anything over a carat.

I live in a well to do area in the Midwest and I see a lot of large princess or round solitaires and bands with lots of “bling” (I don’t know, most people I’ve talked to have a ring of like 2cts)
