White gold, princess or Round Brilliant solitaires, with the odd three stone thrown in. (South Australia)

In NOLA I was seeing a lot of halos, princess cuts, pave settings, and white gold/platinum from my generation. My mom’s generation had a lot of thicker yellow gold bands and round solitaires that came with matching curved wedding bands to complete the set, usually with either tiny set stones or just a plain band. Usually 1ct or thereabouts.

When we were in Atlanta it was a fun mix of everything, but in Buckhead I saw a lot of 1ct+ stones in bigger settings.

Now that we’re in the UK I see a lot of delicate solitaires and cluster/illusion-set rings between .25-.5cts. My 1ct is considered huge here.

I’m in the Dallas area, and I mostly see princess cut stones (for the younger-ish crowd) and lots of 3-stone rings.

I’m in Metro Detroit, on the East side. In my age set (25-30), I see mostly round brilliants set in platinum with varying degrees of pave on the band. I’m not sure about tcw, but the center stone is typically 1-1.5 carats. I’ve seen a few delicate halos on friends. I picked mine out mostly because I wanted something different, and because I love it, obviously. I went with a 1.1 carat oval three stone halo – side stones are two smaller ovals, and the halo is very subtle. You can barely see it. I hope I get it soon 🙂

The big, flashy halos I’ve actually seen more on ring upgrades/women in their 40s and 50s, but typically that age group has lovely solitaires in yellow gold bands. Very classy, very classic.
