I love Asscher cuts (have one for my e-ring), and so when I went in to Harry Winston the other day with a friend to gawk at everything, I extra gawked at this crazy ring. It must have been obvious that I was gaga and the employees must have been REALLY bored, because a saleswoman asked if I wanted to try it on. I think my eyes about fell out of my head!!! Anyway, here is the gloriousness that is a massive Elizabeth-Taylor-style Asscher cut HW rock. I remember she told me it was D color, IF, and 14+ carats. Asking price? $4MIL!!!!

Woobee: I don’t think I have ever wanted something so badly in my life. That is absolute perfection right there. I am shocked (SHOCKED) that they let you try it on!
I don’t usually ask to try on rings so I can’t say that it was physically on my hand but when visiting a Tiffany’s in Las Vegas we saw a 5 carat round solitaire with an asking price of $1million. It was pretty, but not a million pretty. You also had to call ahead and make an appointment to try it on despite it sitting there in the case.

Woobee: lol that’s insane! That thing would break my size 4 finger in half. I’m not one to say someone’s ring is too big to be real, but if I saw someone that was not Beyoncé wearing that I would assume it wasn’t.
i tried on FMILs 2.1 carat solitaire! Also her 6.4 carat total weight (3.1 each diamond earrings) ignore how bad the pic is and focus on how huge these earrings are

wow thats crazy… I thought I tried on a crazy ring…lo.
I tried on the Tiffany Legacy.. 168,000… I had no idea when I picked it out. I kindly slid it off my finger and handed it back to her…lol
Funny thing is, I LOVED that ring on the computer but I didnt love as much in person (even before i knew the price…lol)

Treejewel19: I know right!! The store was completely empty, so I think they maybe just wanted to see our reaction. There were at least three security guards in the vicinity, and they probably didn’t think we looked slick enough to be jewel thieves.
LittleE3: Those earrings are magnificent. You are so lucky to have access to a treasure trove like that!
My Fiance and I shopped around (aka I dragged him around to all jewelry stores in the area) quite a bit, so I got to try on some really cool pieces along the way. I was initially looking for a gemstone ring, and at one point I put on a big old emerald sucker worth something like $60K. Love the gemstone look!! Some of the really sizeable, high quality stones are worth more than a diamond of the same weight (and are actually much more rare too).

I tried on a 2+ carat ring that was around $20k but that was the most expensive. Couldn’t imagine $4 million!

I tried on a 14k ring at Tiffany’s with an old bf and thought I was a big shot. Boy am I simple gal. I Think my eyes nearly fell out when I saw the price. Never In my wildest dreams. 2 million? I’d faint just touching it 🙂

I wish I had a pic of the 5.52 carat ring I tried on! It was $160,000.00 – I said if I ever win the lotto I would be back for her! 😉

I tried on a 1.5ct natural vivid purple/pink e-ring. I know the stone was about $340k and the setting had to be another 10-12k easily.

bkrocks13: wow, I wish you had a pic of that! I’ve never seen a vivid pink/purple diamond! I bet it was amazing.

Mine clocks in pretty low on this list – D IF 1.1ct, $10,000. Woobee: I am just drooling over that Asscher though. You’re so lucky to have a HW store near you!
