Reception and photography were our most important spending decisions, followed by the dress.

I voted for food & drink, music (we’re having a live band), honeymoon, and venue. Those were the biggest ticket items for us, and the most important.

(Side note: Fiance and I payed for our honeymoon ourselves, while my parents paid for pretty much everything else)

Guest list, photography, music/entertainment, dress, venue (mine was unique so it was a big deal), food were my personal priorities. Having the people I wanted there celebrating with me was number one, because you can have great food and music but if the people there aren’t people you love who want to celebrate your marriage then it won’t be any fun. Photography because the pictures are the only things that last a lifetime, even months later there are things I hardly remember because I was in a happy fog, but I remember through great pictures. Music was a big one for me, we paid a lot for our band and it was very worth it. We went over budget on the band and were very okay with that, the majority of the night was spent dancing so we wanted them to be GOOD. I spent a lot on my dress. I’ve never felt as pretty/sexy in my life and it was well worth it. Our venue was a gorgeous music library, it was perfect for us and is the thing people talk about most so spending the extra fee to rent the space was worth it, it was the only place we even looked at. Food…people need to eat. It doesn’t have to be fantastic, but it shouldn’t be sucky either. Flowers and everything else were just nice bonuses, but if we had a wedding just with the same guest list, photography, band, dress, venue, and caterer, it would have still been perfect.

Our biggest items are photography, rentals (our reception is in our backyard so this including lighting and event design), and food.

First is food and drink.  Second is music and party.  Third is venue.  Fourth is honeymoon.  Fifth is wedding dress.. and everything else, mah, whatever is left in our budget! 😉

Our priorities are a welcoming/comfortable venue where everyone can really enjoy themselves, plenty of booze, a great band (but this is cheap b/c they’re good friends), and great photography.

My biggest expense was the venue. I think the venue really sets the mood for the wedding and can make or break the overall feel for the wedding.

I think the experience is important- so food, location, feeling of the party (live music).

    Food/drink/cake & Honeymoon.

EDIT : If there was the options, I would have also voted dj/music & alocohol. Both were very important to me.
