My Dad isn’t a jeweler by any means – in fact, he’s an engineer. This past weekend, though, he took an old hardware nut from his shop and fashioned a ring for my fiance. It turned out beautifully, and my fiance loves it!
On top of that, my grandmother made this beautiful quilt and pillows for our bed! She had my fiance and I pick out the pattern and material, then created this masterpiece in a month!
I’m so blessed to have people willing to make and do things for this wedding. These kinds of things mean so much more to me than expensive gifts! 🙂
What are the best personalized gifts you’ve gotten?

Wow! What beautiful and meaningful gifts. I’m really curious what others will say. My mom is passing down a bracelet to me and that means a lot to me.

My bridesmaids made me a collage of photos, framed and matted, of items that spell out my new last name. Each girl chose 1 or 2 letters of my new last name, and took a photo of that letter in a way that meant something to us both. Like, the “O”– someone used a photo of my ring from the side–when she got engaged, we were some of the first people to see her own ring. the “A” and “I” — friends used photos of an Eiffel Tower, those two friends share my love of Paris. Each girl wrote a note to me about their letter, with a word that started with that letter and why they chose it. All the notes were put in a booklet for me. It was a really thoughtful, time consuming gift and i absolutely love it. The frame is hung in our living room.

My aunt had me a quilt made, personalized with mine and FI’s names and wedding date. Love it! & that ring is awesome!
