iarebridezilla:  Ha. Read a little closer. I’m not saying anyone is racist here… not my intention at all! I just think maybe people don’t realize the implications of their statements. This is an entertaining thread nonetheless.

In high school someone said that I shoot heroine in my toes. 1st & foremost I’ve never done heroine.  In high school I had tried smoking weed & drinking alcohol.  2nd I thought that was absolutely hysterical!  Shooting heroine in your toes! If you’re going to try & criticize me you might want to try a little harder & not say something so ridiculous! I didn’t find out that people actually did that until like 2-3 years later! I remember, I was a waitress & was telling a group of my customers the story,  don’t ask how it got brought up. So that’s when I learned that shooting it in your toes was a real thing! Needless to say I wasn’t insulted AT ALL!

iarebridezilla:  bwahahahahahahahaha! I might laugh so hard that I had to pull over.

This post makes me think of this amazing scene by Steve Martin in the movie Roxanne, which is based on Cyrano de Bergerac

iarebridezilla:  here’s a doozy for you:

Last year, we had to let an employee go. She was a nut. 50 something, hyper as all hell and impossible to hold a conversation with. I have many, many stories, but suffice to say, we were completely justified in letting her go.

As soon as she left, a good friend of mine, who also owns a business in our town came to me. What she told me, had me wrecked for MONTHS. This little bitch-ex-employee had been telling anyone and everyone who would listen, that I was a pill addict/heroin user. She told people I had caused my sons cancer, and that I should have my son taken away for nursing while “being a junkie”. My whole world caved. I was so freaked out. I panicked, and cried. She had been telling people this, while working in my family’s business, taking our money as pay, telling MY customers these horrible lies. All the while, telling me how much she loved me, my kids and my family. I felt so violated and gross. She even told a brand new hire all of this shit, and the poor girl ran out the door! I didn’t find out why until much later.

The only thing I had on my side, is my established presence and reputation in my tiny town. The woman who told me this, also said that after that she told the bitch to ” fuck off cuz no one would EVER believe that, and fucking with someone’s life like that is disgusting.” Oh, and my friend? A retired state cop that’s known my family and I for years. She’s got quite a bit of influence here. She’s respected and having her and her circle backing me up made me feel so much better. Not to mention the fact that anyone who knows me, knows none of this is true. It still hurt me pretty badly though.

I guess the worst was her blaming me for my sons cancer. She was with us when we found out, went thru chemo and had to have his eye removed. She cried (crocodile tears, obviously) right along with my whole family. And to find out how horrid, and twisted she was, just really made me wary of ever getting close to anyone again.

I really didn’t deserve any of that. We invited her to holidays and other family stuff. The theory is, she was really upset after her business failed in our town and when she worked for us and saw that we do alright, she tried to bring us down. Didn’t exactly work in her favor though.

MrsA1222:  hahaha that’s usually the way it is! Someone told me once, years ago, that the one who is saying/yelling it is usually the one who is it….or something like that!

iarebridezilla:  yes ma’am. I still get upset over it sometimes. I’ve been able to get (mostly) over it by believing in karma and knowing that I’m a great mom to my kids and I do my very best to be kind to everyone.

I still fantasize about laying her out though 🙂 that helps too.

I like to go to the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and since my Japanese sister in law once gave me a kimono, I sometimes wear it there. I was walking around with my now fiance, and he saw/overheard some guy look at me, sneer and say “Japanese slut.”

Luckily my fiance didn’t tell me till later, because I would have made a seen yelling at that kid for his nasty view of the world, but as a virginal white chick, I can’t say it exactly resonated with me in any way.

I’ve been called a stupid (pejorative name for Chinese) when

I didn’t stop on a main road to let someone exit a parking lot (to stop would have caused an accident).  Hey dumb guy, that’s actually stupid Native American to you!

iarebridezilla:  I was called a self-centered b*tch by my BIL- for changing our wedding date to accomodate HIS schedule.  It was about the least self-centered I could have done.  But he also called me selfish for asking my sister for $4 cash (I specifically needed cash– I had “money”, just not in the cash form)– and this was not too long after I gave my sister $1200 because she needed the money.  So you can see my Brother-In-Law is a little “off” for lack of a better way to put it.

It’s those kid of insults where you feel like you’re talking to someone in an entirely different language- because what they are saying does not make any sense whatsoever.

I got told by a toothless man with a mullet and flanno that I needed to go back to school and get an education because I was a stupid girl working at a supermarket. I’d just finished the first year of a double degree in law and criminology.

This guy I’ve since learned has never held a job.

As per my university program, all graduating students were required to work as a group to plan and hang a gallery show, and one person in the group pulled our professor aside and told him that I was,”a fucking emotionless bitch and that everyone was afraid of.”

Right, because someone with no feelings definitely bursts into tears over an insurance commercial. Just because I pick and choose who I share my emotions with doesn’t mean I’m emotionless.

My crime for being called that? Taking initiative and planning the show! She would drag her feet and complain about everything whereas all I wanted was for us to stay on track. Sure I can be a little straight to the point but I never said an unkind thing to her.

These are great! I’m a teacher, and I once had a parent tell me I didn’t know what I was talking about because I’m white. (She was using race as an excuse for why her daughter wasn’t doing well in school “White kids have it easier.”) The thing is, I’m not white! My father is black, and I don’t look white at all. She just assumed from my voice over the phone that I was white.
