@charis!  That’s how I feel!  How about mine?  Eveline Marie Virginia Gemmalynne…..Yep, all of it.  😉 (3 first names, 1 middle).  It’s a doozy.

In all seriousness, tell her to consider giving baby a name that is easy for others to pronounce.  All my life this is what happens:

Professors:  EH-vie-Marie?

Me: Actually, it’s EEE-vie-Marie

.. it gets old after 25 years.

Did you get any nicknames Eve? (obviously part from eve)

I have one first name and the 2 middle names.. its actually charis elizabeth symonique but i tend to drop the symonique because i run out of boxes in forms…

My cousin has an unusal name too hers is Christabel…. and she named her little one Evie-joy!

I just know that I have never ever met another charis. I like my name tho.

My name is Guinevere it is the french spelling of the Welsh name Gwynhwfar. It is a really old name names like Jennifer and Genevieve and Gwyneth are derived from it. Guinevere was also the name of the Queen who married King Arthur (knights of the round table story) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinevere

@Ccrane–Yeah, lots of nicknames with so many names to choose from!  Evie (and/or E.V) is most common, Vi (from the virginia), Ginni (from virginia)…ugh the list keeps going…   I almost never, ever Include Gemmalynne on ANYTHING.  I hate that name. I tend to use Evie-Maire as a first name and Virginia as a middle.  Charis is a beautiful name, you should name your baby Grace if you ever have one—super cute meaning for you!

Shayla, hahahaa (SATC joke….yeah…wow, I’m up too early)

Malaya immediately made me think Malaria. I know its horrible, but that was my first gut reaction…

I’ve always liked Lysander for a girl (yeah, I know, I’m a Shakespeare dork…) or Juniper (wait, was there a cartoon show with a “Juniper”?). I also like the cities “Verona” and “Milan” for names.

The most original and beautiful name I’ve heard was Linea (pronounced Lin-ae-uh)

It is the name of a flower that is native to the particulare region in Canada in which they lived.

I love my niece’s name which is Nelysa (Neh-Lisa) Gianna which is actually my name in reverse, which is Gianna Nelisa. Both are very unique names.

I will try to come up with a few pretty, unique names.
