@iarebridezilla:  Haha That’s awesome. What your SIL said is actually true FTR, but only if you are already a crack addict. I love your BIL’s take on parenting though.

I think my favorite thing so far is how the thought of DH and I having kids seems to bring out all the stories of every thing my PILs did wrong “but he still survived”(i.e. DH fell down the laundry shoot, but he turned out OK. Raising kids is mostly good luck that they survived. Everything else is gravy)

@iarebridezilla:  BAHAHA srsly! Because whenever I go dirt biking I actively try to fall. I will just not do that this time and it will be fine!

My aunt, seeing me very uncomfortable at a large family party (I have social anxiety and this side of the family is very judgy and nasty by nature), told me “The baby will forgive you if you have a beer just this once.  Besides, everything you do is going to screw that kid up anyways.” So true, it seems.

I haven’t drank in any of my pregnancies, but it’s funny when people my mother’s age, like my aunt, just laugh about it.  They all talked about how no one told them not to drink and we all turned out okay.  They were told to restrict drinking but no one was outright told not to do it.

Aww.  Your poor DH!  It is kind of funny though.  I tell my husband that our girls (3 and 4) have daddy issues because they love to streak naked through the house.  I read a lot of books in that vein though, mostly because I had (okay, fine, have) shoddy self-esteem growing up and I definitely don’t want the girls to be insecure like I was.
