Hey bees,
I love a good pair of heels when im wearing a skirt or shorter dress, however, I am truly interested to know “Why wear heels when they will be hidden under a long wedding dress?” It’s not like they make your legs look more shapely :p
Well i have flat feet so I can’t wear heels for more than 2 minutes without them hurting, and I always get blisters too. So why wear heels if no one sees them? I also prefer to look shorter than my fiance :p and, my wedding is outside so I figure my heels would sink right into the dirt.
Let me know what you guys think, and do you think I could get away with wearing flats or very-low heels on my wedding day?

@MrsBtoBe14: I think a lot of brides wear flats. I’m wearing heels because mine are insanely comfortable and my Fiance is 6’2″

I’m wearing flats! No point in wearing heels if you don’t want, especially since you’ll be standing so much

I’m wearing heels since I’m a tiny petite little thing and want to gain another 2″ and I can hide that fact with a dress 😉 But in all honesty if I was having a ceremony outside my height was over 5’3 I would definatly wear flats! It’s your wedding do whatever will make you feel comfy and beautiful!

Many women believe that wearing heels “gives” them better posture. I take issue with this for physiological reasons, but it does seem mto be a common belief.

@MrsBtoBe14: Where whatever shoes you like. If you want, you could always do a wedge which would give you the height without the discomfort of a heel. Really, up to you

I’m wearing heels because I’m 5’0 and wearing a big ballgown, which will make me look even smaller that I already am, so I’m looking to add some height. Also, my FH is 6’0, so even in my 4″ heels I’ll still be a bit shorter than him.
But wear whatever kind of shoes you want… there’s no rule against wearing flats. TBH, if I was 5″ taller I’d probably wear a small kitten heel or flats, but I’m way too short to get away with that.

I’m probably going to end up wearing my 1.5 inch wedges under my dress. I bought a paid of 4 inch ones, but I wouldn’t usually wear them so why would I wear them on my wedding day? I know there will probably be shoe pictures, but other than that I don’t think anyone is going to care what I’m wearing.

@MrsBtoBe14: I think you should wear what makes you most comfortable. I’m only 5’1″ so I could easily wear 7″ heels and still be smaller than my fiance, but I’m opting for flats because I refuse to be uncomfortable. I never really wear heels (I occasionally wear very tiny heels, maybe 1″ or less), and I don’t want to be wobbling around throughout my wedding ceremony and reception.

I’m wearing heels to be taller (I’m only 5’5). My long sheath dress fits much better on a taller individual (think of why clothes look so beautiful on the runway), the movement and drape is much more apparent.

Thanks, girls!
I will look into wedges, for sure!
Does anyone know of any stores or designers (not too expensive) that have reallyyyy comfy heels?

@MrsBtoBe14: The only reason I am wearing heels (as of right now) is because I have yet to find a pair of flats that I truly love. I fell in love with a pair of heels, but would happily swap them if I found a pair of flats the I love!

@MrsBtoBe14: If you feel more comfortable, confident etc. in flats then go for it. Just make sure you have the dress altered accordingly.
I wondered the same thing, like why brides buy the strassed Louboutins that no one can see lol.
I’d likely wear heels just because my SO is 6’1″ and I’m 5’4″ and I feel more girly in them, but I am not sure I’d make a big deal about it.
