My husband didn’t want me to be taller than him, so I stuck with flats. I also found some super adorable strappy sandals.

You could wear your heels during the ceremony if its quick and for pics but get some cute, matching flats to wear for most of your day.
I’m wearing heels because I’m 5’0 and my fiance is 6’3, And I love heels. Plus everyone in my Bridal Party is atleast 4 inches taller than me
@MrsBtoBe14: I hear ya! I wore my heels for the ceremony then changed for the reception intio flats. i did change back into heels for the pics for the garter toss though. I am weird like that though
The longer I shop for shoes, the lower the heel is that I decide upon. I’ve finally decided that flats are my best bet. I’m average height (5’8″) and a total klutz, and the venue has nothing but slick hardwood flooring, so flats are safest for me. And, I think they’ll be more comfortable, for sure.
I agree! I wanted to wear my chucks for my wedding and be comfortable all night but I decided since I want to sell my dress later and I am only 5″1″ wearing heels would be a good idea. Not many short brides are ok with not wearing heels during their wedding. The ones I bought were pretty comfy and only 3″ tall but since your wedding will be on grass (mine is on cobblestone) I would def recommend wedges or heel savers! I got my heels from payless tho and found a 15% off coupon so only paid $15 for them:D I have thought about gluing rhinestones on the heel but im just not sure because I will want to wear them again at some point. Good luck with your search!
However, I have crazy comfortable heels that are stunning… You don’t even feel like you’re wearing shoes… They’re Pelle Moda and were $150 at Dillards. I’ll probably bring them with me in case I feel like putting them on. They come in several colors: http://www.dillards.com/product/Pelle-Moda-Gleam-Sandals_301_-1_301_503269246?df=03836972_zi_gold
Thanks girls! great photos and advice!
I’m doing heels for the ceremony and flats after!
I wear sneakers all the time–it’s acceptable in my profession. When there is a special occasion, I get the chance to dress up, do my hair and make-up, and wear heels. At these times, I feel like a lady, and the heels have a good part to do with that. My wedding was a day that I definitely wanted to feel like a lady.
When I wear heels, I am picky. They have to be comfortable, not so tall that I can’t waik in them (my limit is 2-2.5inches, and unfotunately, cute shoes with shorter heels are harder to find), and the heel needs to be sturdy/wider–no pencil-thin heels, cause I’m sure I’ll twist my ankle in them.
So overall, do whatever you want! As many gals mentioned above, they found a situation that worked well for them. If you don’t care for heels, don’t do it!
I definitely agree with geekspice. Wearing heels in the long term is NOT good for your health. However, it does change your posture in such a way that you accentuate your curves. Some brides also go out of their way to take photos of their shoes and/or have shorter dresses so they could show them off easily. It really depends on a LOT of factors.
Personally, I’m wearing the rain boots that my Fiance got me for Valentine’s.
Wear whatever you want, dear. Heels are not compulsory for anyone, participants or guests. Our wedding was outdoors, and I was not going to risk getting stuck in the lawn! I wore purple satin flats, was comfortable all night, and they looked beautiful peeking out from under my gown.
