I need some advice for heel height for my wedding dress. My Fiance is 6’4″ (I am 5’6″), so I’m definitely wearing heels, but I don’t know how high is too high for the dress. I’m not going to trip over the dress (it’s a ball gown) in 3″+ shoes, but is it possible to purchase shoes too high for the dress? What makes the shoes too high?
I never thought I would be getting married, so this is all new to me! Any comments/thoughts are helpful.

Honestly it all comes down to personal preference. Some people wear flats, while some wear 5″ stilettos. I wore a 4″ heel so I could avoid having to hem my dress lol

I too am getting the right height shoes just so I don’t have to have my lace dress hemmed. But, my fiance also asked me to not be taller than him… and since he is only a few inches taller than me, I made sure they wouldn’t make me too tall! Wear what you would be comfortable walking in for hours, and what you feel confident wearing.

IMO, too high is when you can’t walk or are unbearably uncomfortable. Otherwise, the choice is yours. Usually, the taller you make yourself the better you look in a dress (especially if it is floor-length), but there is a lot to be said for flats if you are going to be on your feet all day (and especially if you are dancing later). Whatever you do, choose the shoes before the alterations so they can hem to the right length.

Too high is what it is when your Hubby to Be suddenly sees you eyeball to eyeball! Too high is when you fall on your arse at the fitting. Too high is when your arches scream & ya think “is a first dance mandatory”???
