I think the first Saw movie was pretty jarring, as was the first Hostel.  And Se7en.

Gross-out terrifying would be Human Centipede, but I refuse to even watch it from what I’ve read and the small clips I’ve seen.

Okay and The Exorcist.  That was pretty itense.

Paranormal Activity 3 made me jump 1000 times! I thought The Messengers was pretty scary too. =D

I’d probably say Halloween is the scariest one I have ever seen, probably just because of the circumstances at the time I first saw it.  I was in my early teens, completely averse to horror films, and my dad talked me into watching it.  Then later he stood at the end of the hallway wearing a creepy gray mask staring at me and I FLIPPED OUT.  So that movie has stuck with me, and I consider it to be one of the scariest films of all time.  It’s legitimately suspenseful and creepy.  I hate that damn music.  But the sequels mostly suck.

But I get creeped out easily so there are a lot of movies I’d call scary.  I’d also say that Saw is one of the scariest – on a completely different level, though – not suspenseful and frightening, just horrific – and after watching that, I refuse to watch any more of these torture porn movies that have emerged as a new part of the horror genre in recent years.

ETA – I have not seen the Human Centipede, but I regret even reading the Wikipedia synopsis of it.  Gross.

Yes to Paranormal 3!! I saw that in theatres (after MUCH convincing from Fiance to come along), and then he spent the night TRYING to scare me, so I still close my eyes at night after I turn out the light and run into bed.

I thought The Ring was really scary…so was The Exorcism of Emily Rose if I remember correctly. I don’t watch the bloody horror movies so I can’t help with those (I still have nightmares from watching Hostel years ago).

Friday the 13th (the original), Nightmare on Elm St (old and new- both awesome!), Land of the Dead (and most other zombie movies for jumpy factor)

I think I love Zombie movies because (in my mind it could happen someday somehow) and I always start to worry about how I would protect my son and how I’d survive and every bump in the night freaks me out! Lol. I <3 zombie movies so much! Every single one is terrifying!

Ever since I got super freaked by the puppet master, the freddy and jason movies when I was a kid, I cant watch any of those kinds of movies anymore.

All horror movies. I cant stand them AT ALL. I refuse to see the centipede, the saw, etc, etc, etc.

Too much for me.
