I’ve got two different things – a spreadsheet, and then a visual map on wedding wire – that I’m updating in parallel. I like the spread sheet, because I can add notes, and I like the visual map because… it’s a visual map.

I’ve also heard really good things about a postit note/poster board system. I was just too worried I would lose the postits.

I used weddingwire for all of this stuff.  I had inputted all my guests and used their tools for rsvps and table assignments.

Are you talking about for the actual wedding?  If so, I think that people do really well with the traditional table of cards with their names and table numbers at the entrance…and then numbered tables.

We went to a wedding this past weekend that did song titles on the table and there were a lot of really confused guests.

I am considering just doing a large bulletin board with names in alphabetical order with the corresponding table number, because our reception is outdoors and I’m afraid the cards will blow away.

I like post it’s.  That way you can stick a few together if you know you want them seated together, etc.

I had a really big corkboard and I put on all of our tables, and printed off tags with everyone’s names on them. I stuck them on and moved them around until we were happy with how it worked for everyone. We were actually complimented a number of times on the groupings of people we put together and how well they got along, we put a lot of time and effort into and and I’m happy it paid off!

@MrsDrRose612:  Gotcha.  I misunderstood.  I’m a post-it note kinda girl.  🙂

I found a picture of ours for you, it wasn’t fancy but it did the trick!

I started it pretty early on the RSVPs being returned. There were a lot of people who I knew would be able to come (or not), so I preplanned for them. It’s easier to shift things around if you get a few surprise No’s, I’d rather over plan than under personally.
