DH LOVES number patterns, and when I saw July 9, 2011 (7-9-11, consecutive odd numbers) was a Saturday, it was a sealed deal in my book.

It’s the day our beautiful daughter was concieved. It happens to fal on a Monday, so that’s the day we’re getting married Smile. At first i was a little worried about not having a “traditional” saturday wedding, but oh well. It happens that everything is way cheaper, including the celebrant (less than half of the cost on a saturday) the reception is cheaper also.

None of our guests mind it being on a Monday. It’s a great Ausse tradition to throw a sickie (fake sick leave day) anyway, and what better excuse to have one than to attend our wedding Laughing. Most if not all of the guests are taking tuesday and quite possibly wednesday off also lol. My Fiance is taking the whole month off! *happy dance*

We picked that week of July because our daycare provide will be on Vacation so I think it’s a best time to do this because we have to be off work to take care of our little boy anyway, LOL.  I picked July 24 because we will arrive in Hawaii on July 19 and I want to make sure we have 2 full work days to obtain a marriage license.  I think that’s a very good reason :-).

We picked our date b/c it was one year from when my DH (then FI) had proposed. We wanted to do it on our dating anniversary but we didn’t have enough money saved up for the elopement we wanted.

We picked the weekend before the only week DH could take off this Summer. We were going to choose the Saturday, but my aunt was planning a 50th birthday party for my uncle that day. So, we were stuck with the Sunday – which coincidentally happened to be Father’s Day.
(Our 4pm ceremony allowed the dads to have time with their kids in the morning/afternoon.)

Our wedding day is exactly a year from the date we got engaged. Our venue was available and it is a Saturday! Meant to be 😉

It was actually picked by my mom before we “came out” about being engaged. She was flipping thru her calender and noticed that her moms (who i’ve never met) birthday was on a Saturday. Since her mom, my grandma, couldn’t be there, it was important to her for us to get married on that day. Now, I couldn’t imagine not getting married on that day!

We chose it because I wanted a winter wedding in 2012, but all Saturdays were booked.  We decided on the 28th and realized later that it’s the day of the month we met (March 28)!  and I really like that it will have 12 on both sides! 12-28-12

Our actual wedding anniversary is 4/20/05.  I think 4/20 speaks for itself plus I know my DH will never forget it. We always have a great time on our anniversary!

Our vow-renewal/first celebration wedding date was picked because it is between semesters, just long enough after July 4th and near a pay day for people!  LOL

It’s a tuesday. Sounds silly, but means a lot to me.

My ex who beat me into the hospital, pushed for a jury trial of the case and went so far as to read my written fantasies in court and show the jury my…ahem..nude photos, to ‘prove” I liked “rough sex” and “was asking for it”, Hated tuesdays.

I couldn’t even tell you why, but he did.

So partially to turn away from my past and become the newer, better, stronger me, I picked a tuesday.

Yes, we considered the significance of our date!

August 1st is the Celtic holy-day of Lammas, the halfway point between the summer solstice, and autumn equinox, commonly called Midsummer. It celebrates the harvest and bounty of life! When I checked the calendar last year, I discovered it was also going to a full moon! so I knew then that it would be a most magical midsummer’s eve, and chose that date.

because it’s a Wedsneday, we got a 55% off discount from our venue, and all our vendors have been so happy to have a mid-week wedding. As a bonus, it turns out there will be a fireworks show that night, so we’ll see the high ones bursting over the Vancouver skyline. I’m praying fervently to Mother Nature for a sunny day and a gorgeous sunset!!
