@Ryansgirl:My SO is a really healthy guy and hardly ever eats any junk food. One morning I came downstais and found a package for gummie savers in the trash. Gummies are his weakness. I asked him where did the gummies come from? He insisted that he had his best friend over and he must have eaten them..lol! So your best friend drove over here in the middle of the night while I was sleep and ate gummies? “Yes babe that’s exactly what happened” lol…it was soooo cute but obviously a lie.

@Ryansgirl: This is pretty embarrassing (thank goodness this is anonymous!) but I was hanging out with a guy I really liked and I passed some gas. It was loud. He asked me if I farted. i said no, but then went on to say I wouldn’t lie about it and I would admit if I actually had farted. Which was total BS because I just had.

@Ryansgirl: thats actually kinda funny (minus them crying of course)

I’m sure I’ve must have told a couple, but if I’m having a convo with my little sister and we start talking about past memories, I always toss in random things that make it funnier even though I know it didn’t happen that way. And its even funnier when my sister agrees with me and tries to finish what I was saying!

Um, I was a little pathelogical liar as a child.  Major issues.  The good thing is that I out grew it.

Here were the big lies I remember telling:

1.  That I had a bunch of siblings… at the time I had 0
2.  Whenever I didn’t want to do something, I blamed it on visits with my dad… never met the guy.
3.  I lied at a party that I wasn’t a virgin.. I was 12 and hadn’t even kissed anyone.  Good job cool girl

I will say that I still lie on a fairly regular basis, but only to avoid hurting someone’s feelings!  Or even to just agree with someone so they don’t feel bad about what they feel or something they’ve been through.  Is that bad???

@jennifer_espos: Me too! I had major issues as a kid that led to constant lying, as well. I don’t really understand it, but I did grow out of it. In fact, I became extremely truthful. Although I lie at work constantly because I answer phones and hate salesmen/solicitors. 🙂

I can’t think of just one really stupid lie I told, but I know there were some doozies back in the day. Mostly, though, it was just to my parents and strangers; not to friends.

Haha I remember telling lies all the time as a kid. Which is crazy because I feel like I don’t lie about anything anymore. I remember when I was 9, telling a kid in my class that I was a trained life guard. I’m not sure why I remember that one in particular, it definitely didn’t make anyone cry lol.

I remember telling all my friends in first grade that the spice girls were my cousins, and because of that, I would have a copy of the spice girls movie before anyone had even seen it. Such a lie!!

Oh I totally remembered another one! I told my friends at a slumber party that I was a Persian princess. Even though I’m clearly a white, blonde, southern girl. Oh geez…so embarrassing looking back.

@Gingersnap: Hilarious!

I didn’t like peanuts, so I told one of my daycare teachers that i was allergic, because that what there was for a snack one day.

Then, stupidly, I told my mom I didn’t get a snack at snack time, and she went and bitched at them, and they said “Oh, it had peanuts in it”. My mom was like “uh huh?!?!?!?!”, they replied “well, she’s allergic”. my mom “uh, no she’s not”.

I also lied to my best friend ever all the time, she lived in another city, that I did lots of stuff with boys, when I really hadn’t ever done anything with a boy.

I think so actually…I mean we were 8 or 9. Either way they humored me and asked me questions about what we did in Persia and what the palace was like. lol! I just had a really big imagination as a kid.

@Ryansgirl: irl lol!!!

i just thought of one – when i was young i was sitting at my desk before class started and someone had walked by the podium at the front and accidentally bumped it off balance. i was looking in it’s direction and my friend asked what i was doing and i told her i was using my psychic powers to make it rock and started staring at it really hard. freaked. her. out.

i’m sure I have a million other, better, weirder ones…

@mg1363: I hear ya on the big imagination thing. I was one of those kids too. I thought I was a mermaid. Although, I didn’t tell many other kids that cuz I guess I thought they’d figure it out……
