I would quite like my fiancé to walk down the aisle with his mum, then the wedding party in male female pairs to walk together, then me and my dad at the end. Less of a prize cow to market that way!

Then I, the bride, will absolutely not be letting my husband speak on behalf of me and will give my own speech, and would like the maid of honour to make one too. The parents on either side can decide who wants to speak or share it.

Other things I love, like the white dress, wedding cake, first dance etc but I won’t do anything just ‘because its traditional.’

I’m getting so many great ideas from the Bees here! I’ll definitely have our two puppies In our wedding pics (it will be a civil ceremony). If I could get away with them walking me up the aisle I would 😆

Other things I’ve decided is, I’m not wearing a bridal gown. I’ve picked out a black Vera Wang dress I want to wear instead. I also don’t want a first dance or for there to be any speeches. I just want to eat, drink and be merry

chrissybee :  It’s an old form of marriage that was ppular among the Celts. It is when they wrap different colored cords that each represent something around your hands together to bind your hands for the ceremony. It is where “tying the knot” comes from.

We’re doing a ring-warming ceremony as part of our wedding ceremony, and for some reason I don’t hear of that many couples doing that.

We’re having no wedding party, no bouquet or garter toss, no speeches, no drama. 🙂

We’re still in the early stages of planning but I don’t think we’re going to have a bridal party, just a best man and Maid/Matron of Honor.  I will walk myself down the aisle with Fiance meeting me half way (my sister did it this way so my dad would not be surprised to hear me do this too).  Sweetheart table instead of long head table.  No bouquet or garter toss (always hated those things).  No bridal march when I walk in.

We’re debating between having a traditional ceremony with all the first dances and having a more formal dinner in a restaurant.
