In the ” ___ Accepts with Pleasure” spot, we had a couple people just put a check mark.  Most people put a number, so I thought it was kind of amusing.  So….how many are attending?

I can’t wait for ours to return in a few.  This should be quite amusing.

Well I can definitely relate to the odd way people have filled out our rsvps, however, I think the best one we got was from a MRS E HORSEMAN who said she would not be attending – we do not know ANYONE with that name! Who on earth opens mail addressed to someone else and then rsvps?!!! Still have no idea who didn’t get their invitation :S

@TwinkleToesJMU: you’ve got to give us the background on dog walking person. How weird!

So far, most of ours have been pretty normal, except….

completely blank card with no return address in an unsealed envelope…

…which turned out to be from Future Mother-In-Law (a total dingbat).

I told Fiance I was 90% sure it was hers (would have been 100% if something were spilled on it).

I am stamping RSVP envelopes today.  All of you have inspired me to go back and number them and then hang on to my hat when the responses come back!

Ok, so I never knew that people explain why they aren’t coming. I think thats weird. A simple yes or no AND your name and # attending will do.

@skibobrown – Now Im worried that they will not include themselves when they write how many guests are attending because they think it means their guest not ours! That is too funny that she thought to put none because she didn’t have a guest attending with her. hahaha!

HAHAH, these are great. The only weird one I got was from one of FI’s aunts –

“I’m sorry, we can’t commit to a yes in this economy unless you give us more details and prices”

Um, it’s a destination wedding and we provided tons of details and info on group rates on our wedding website, which was clearly noted in several places on the invites!

Yeah, that one got ignored and marked as a NO.

@monitajb – The dog walking person is my FI’s aunt. She’s a pretty flaky lady and we just discovered the dog walking explaination was a lie! The truth was that her and her husband have a pretty odd marriage. They have lived separate lives in opposite ends of the same house, and have been doing so for 20+ years. Yet they have no intentions of ever divorcing.

So, she just couldn’t stomach the thought of attending our wedding with her husband, so she made up a lame excuse to stay at home. Sheesh!

Luckily we didn’t get any frustrating ones if I don’t include the people who added a guest onto it without being invited with a plus one. That RSVP with the people saying No because they were “buying a house” is so strange. They probably wanted to get out of buying a present is what I”m thinking, but that is still a strange reason not to come to a wedding.

Our only silly one was our friends RSVPing yes for the two of them plus their dog who obviously wasn’t invited and didn’t come (they were kidding) but I thought it was really cute.

It’s not a strange story.. just annoying lol.

I had specific instructions to right the FULL name down on each RSVP… the stats for the wedding are… 6 megans, 5 mikes (including the groom), 2 nicks, 2 kims, 2 kellys, 2 johns, 3 steves… u get the point… ya almost NO ONE did. I had to go through and use logic and handwritting samples and some stalking on FB to figure everyone that didn’t have a partner out, and to learn how to spell everyones last names. Thank god for FB, it made it a lot easier. I even, ALMOST had my new step’s mom last name wrong on the family tree, because NOT even MY DAD can follow directions…

Maybe I’m just an idiot but I probably would have put a check mark on this one as well…..

“”In the ” ___ Accepts with Pleasure” spot, we had a couple people just put a check mark.  Most people put a number, so I thought it was kind of amusing.  So….how many are attending?””

It doesn’t really state anything about number accepting or attending? I think that some are no brainers; but some of the RSVP’s that people put together themselves can be confusing. Some people don’t realize that people read & interpret things differently.
